Guest guest
I was on the virtual counselor reviewing my son's test scores this morning and I came across a discrepancy in what the school is saying about the FCAT scores and what I'm reading on the Virtual Counselor. My son is ASD in the 4th grade emotionally handicapped cluster in Broward, and I was told at the last year's IEP meeting that he recieved a 3 in reading (285) and a 4 in math (358). Everyone at the meeting was all " YEAH " " what a good job " , but they know I want to pull him out of public and put him in a McKay school, so they always promote the rosey side, but I'm I know better, just have to prove it to a difficult ex-spouse. Does anyone know how to interpret these numbers? From what I am reading online, he is failing reading and average in math. According to one website, the scale goes from 86 to 3008...is this correct? Is my son failing reading and math? His BAT scores for this year are reading 39% and math 69%. How can I figure this out?
Guest guest
is there any way you can post what you are questioning? so others might be able to get a clear picture of the numbers'? Guest guest
Do you mean the data tables on the Broward County Schools.com Virtual Counselor that show the data? I'd prefer to send the data tables to a private email rather than post them here. If anyone wants to send their email address, I'd be happy to attach the table pix for your review. > > > Subject: FCAT Question > To: sList > Date: Thursday, January 6, 2011, 11:23 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > I was on the virtual counselor reviewing my son's test scores this morning and I came across a discrepancy in what the school is saying about the FCAT scores and what I'm reading on the Virtual Counselor. Guest guest
I am not to sure about the 86 to 3008 scale and what that means. I know there would be someone on the list more knowledgable than I in the FCAT score area and thought if you could show what you were looking at, you would get the understanding you need. Sorry I don't have the answer.
