Guest guest
" calorie free protein drinks " - There's no such thing. Protein has calories. You probably mean carbohydrate free ones. Isopure makes one http://tinyurl.com/ym88va which is available at GNC stores. Even there it sometimes runs near $4 a bottle. I tried some of these and they're quite tasty. They sort of taste like kool-aid. I'd ask your surgeon/dietician if you really absorb all the protein in these drinks though after wls. I was told I wouldn't but that I'd absorb probably 30-35g which is still a lot really. I didn't have any use for the cost myself but maybe you can make a go with them. It sounds like you've been through a lot. Good luck with your surgery next month! Mike in GR > > Hi, > My name is Marilyn. I've been lurking until I got my date which is > December 19th. Guest guest
Congrats on getting your date Marilyn. As for the dill pickles...I wouldn't know. Don't like them. LOL! I was on a liquid diet for 7 days before my surgery. I lost 18 lbs during those days. There are clear sugar free no cal drinks. Look in the kool-aid section at the grocery store. I know at Kroger there is a disney brand that is clear. There's also another brand; but I can't remember the name right off hand. W 380/278/160 mcolowick wrote: > Hi, > My name is Marilyn. Guest guest
Ooops! I misread the original post. I thought she just meant calorie free sugar free drinks. I missed the protein part. And like Mike said there are no calorie free ones. I did not like the Isopure. They made my mouth feel like sandpaper after drinking them. Guest guest
Congratulation on your surgery date. I the only non calorie drink I know of is water. I think you ment low carb when you where refering to protein shakes. GMC or Vitiman Shoppe are two good places to buy hakes and suppliments. You can also go to www.bariatriceating.com or www.vitaladay.com both these sites are designed by bariatric patient that are at least 5 yrs out and all their products are good (at least the ones I have tried) As for the dill pickes I wouldn't even try that after surgery. You are going to be on a liquid and puree diet and then having a hard time getting protein in to be tryng to eat a dill pickle. Guest guest
Hello.. My name is Faith ...I live in Seattle, WA but will soon be moving to IDAHO. My husband is semi retiring so we can be together more so he can take care of me. I cannot do that anymore....oh, I can walk, and feed myself most times, and dress myself, etc..but am in a lot of pain..and FOG...and I just depend on him so much. I would like to have some moral support. And maybe find ways that I can help my husband to understand me more with the pain I have. I am very happy, although, I take strong anti depressants to make that possible. Thanks for letting me join this group.
