OPEN ENROLLMENT

SFACS is now accepting KINDERGARTEN applications for the 2011 - 2012 school year

OPEN ENROLLMENT: Feb. 1 to April 1, 2011

LOTTERY DRAWING: April 8, 2011 at 5:00 pm

SFACS will expand to serve K to 10th for 2011-2012

Applications for students currently in K to 9th can be submitted at any time

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

â— Student must be diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

â— Student must have a public school IEP reflecting eligibility for Autism Spectrum Disorder

(ASD) services and placement

◠Student must be on a modified curriculum – we cannot enroll students who are on a

general education curriculum

In addition, the student must fall within one or more of the following categories:

â— Student has behavioral difficulties

â— Student has communication deficits

â— Student requires training in self-help skills

TO APPLY:

Visit our website to download an Enrollment Application, or you may request an application in our office. Complete the Enrollment Application and submit it with a copy of your child’s most recent public school IEP. You may submit these documents by mail, or hand deliver in person.

The mission of SFACS is to provide education and services to individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) residing in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. We target students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder who have communication deficits and/or behavioral challenges, and who may require training in self-help skills. The methodologies of B.F.

Skinner’s Theory of Applied Behavioral Analysis are applied in conjunction with Florida Sunshine State standards for students on a modified curriculum in order to provide the most effective individualized educational programs possible.
