Guest guest
Hi Tigger, My Rhumo is in Newburyport, where is yours?, you didn't travel that far did you?, but truthfully mine does have patients who drive from far as she is smart diagnoising but just prefers to treat with old time meds for the fibro as sometimes she says the RA meds will work. But I suggest you go back to your PCP and tell him/her of your pain and that Rheumie has some other ideas, as this is kind of what I did. I told mine I needed to stay on the pain meds they had started me on and would continue to see the Rheumo but she just kind of keeps a check on how I am, and provides the Soma. Hope this will work. Take Care. Sharon Tigger wrote: Hey Sharon, are you sure we didn't see the same rheumatologist? My PCP was upset because she thought she was going to start me on some meds for Lupus (one test came back positive). Well, unless the two of them talk I'm stuck in the middle. and in pain. This is absurd! Mine diagnoised me first visit as was in a big flare, swollen forearm areas, nodules on back of neck and all check point areas. My primary had thought this is what it would be, but the Rhuemie is the one that know the med's non narcotic to treat the disease, she has me on Soma muscle relaxor, and that is all only because she had tried me on all the others usually used and did not work or bad side effects. Oh she also prescribed me Lidoderm patches for the pain sites. Sometimes works, sometimes not, but is not the one to treat with pain meds long term, this is by primary. Rheumie' know more about the disease and uses MX PT etc, so suggest you find another willing to try med's that do work for some. Guest guest
I did do that. No, I'm in Westerly Rhode Island and went to a doctor here. I used to have what I thought was a good rheumy, but then I realized he would give me anything I asked for and that's not what I need. I need a knowledgeable doctor who can help me manage not keep me drugged. I went back to the doctor because I have a frozen shoulder and we talked and nothing gets resolved. I see her again at the beginning of April and I fully intend to have something done. My patience is wearing very thin.
