Guest guest
I see we have been asked to remove the message we are responding to, like you just responded to the editing post and that is all that is on this page except your response. Am I right ? Well this may be a problem for me at times as I have such a hard time responding to post at times I keep it below to refer to when posting. I again will say I am a numb one on a p.c and have all I can do to manuver what I do now, but will attempt to try and fill this members request if not done, I apoligize, and just chalk it up as a Fibro with mental block on comprehending things these days, as have been running on overload and have been trying the simplify my life theory suggested by Dr. long ago. Take care, Sharon Mystic wrote: I try to remove any remanant of any previous messages from my post. Sorry if any slipped through. N.

I'm not , not a moderator, and have no official standing with the group or anything, but I thought maybe I could help you with this. You are either reading your mail using a program like Microsoft Outlook, or reading the group's mail on the Yahoo groups web site. If you are downloading and reading your mail using a program, one thing that might make it easier is if you change your mail options to choose the " traditional " mail option. Yahoo has this spiffy " New and Improved! " format that I find hard to use when replying. If you go to the Yahoo web site for this group, click on " Edit Membership " . At the bottom of the page you will see " New and Improved " , or " traditional " . Click on " Traditional " . You may find it easier to select what you want to quote from the message. You don't want to eliminate all parts of the message you are replying to. Just keep the part that you're answering, and get rid of the rest. You see what part of your message I kept, at the beginning of mine? If you are using a program like Outlook: When you want to reply to a message, use the mouse, and click on the beginning of the part that you want to keep, hold the button down, and " drag " the pointer to the end of the part you want to keep, and release the button. It will be highlighted. On my computer, the text is highlighted in blue. Then click on " Reply " . You will get a window where you type your message, and only the text that you selected will be displayed. If you're reading mail on Yahoo, it may be a little harder, because when you click on " Reply " , it copies *all* of the text. At least it strips out the " non-text " stuff and all those messages at the bottom. Now, you have to select the parts of the message that you *don't* want to keep, in the same way as described above, and after you release the mouse button and the text is highlighted, hit the " delete " key, or click on Edit at the top of the screen, then " Cut " . Look at how much of your message I kept, and how much I didn't. That's the idea, to just keep the part you're replying to. Practice it a few times, and I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. > Z
Guest guest
I always leave the message I'm responding to because if there is no message there, I have no clue what I'm responding to and just skip over it rather than be frustrated with it. It's especially difficult when there have been other posts about something and the original is lost in the shuffle. I do understand deleting all the Yahoo crap at the end.
