Guest guest
Hi; The provider needs to be a MedWaiver Medicaid provider. MedWaiver Medicaid is different than regular Medicaid which is usually a "managed plan". A provider could accept one Medicaid and not the other. MedWaiver is straight Medicaid, not a "plan". As far as where you are geographically, it does not matter. I'm in Broward and Miki is in a facility above Orlando and gets all of her services up there. Hope that helps, Jayne
Guest guest
Jayne and all,This is no longer correct. Many (most?) medwaiver participants are now getting their Medicaid through "plans," we get ours through CMS. I think at the beginning when we were first on Medwaiver it was straight Medicaid, but no more. To: deniseslist Sent: Mon, January 17, 2011 9:05:31 AMSubject: Medwaiver question Hi; The provider needs to be a MedWaiver Medicaid provider. Guest guest
I would make sure that the company you choose is able to support your services in either county. Some providers are able to do dade, broward & palm beach. Check with your coordinator. Guest guest
Or you could chose to do cdc plus and you can hire whoever you want as long as you follow the service guidelines. In addition, you don't have to go with an agency - there are a lot of independent providers out there!
