Guest guest
I had sever pain in my R ear a few years ago and they did every test under the sun trying to find the source of the pain in the end deciding that it was " neuropathic pain " either referred or on its own. Yours sounds very similar to what I was experiencing -- it was incredibly painful! That's when I started taking Neurontin and it has truly helped. As long as I take it regularly, I do not have any significant problems w/ R ear pain anymore. Hope this helps! Cheryl M. > Dr's like that really, really irk me. I've been having ringing in my ears and the dr I saw for that told me to not take any motrin. ..... He has the nerve to tell me that is probably what is causing the ringing. Guest guest
Wow!!! I have never heard this. I have had ringing since I can't remember. I take Cymbalta because the Neuronton was giving me side effects. Maybe I will try to take the Cymbalta on a regular basis and see if this will do the same. I am afraid of the side effects....weight gain(???). I can't afford to gain anymore weight. I don't post much...in to much pain even on meds. Its finally nice and sunny in Michigan, at least for the next five minuets, so I am a little more perky today. Anyone gain weight on Cymbalta? Guest guest
My mom has FMS and started taking Cymbalta about 2 1/2 months ago. We finally talked her into talking her doctor into discontinuing her Effexor, which my sister (who is also a fibromite) and I could see was causing some really serious side effects. She's finally coming out of her slump, says she actually has feelings of happiness, and less pain. She has not said anything about weight gain. She's more mobilized now than she's been in a while. I pray it lasts for her. I'm like you - I'd like to try something like Cymbalta or Lyrica, but cannot afford to get any bigger than I already am. And, with my Health Saving Account related insurance and huge co-pay I generally have to outright purchase my meds, and everyone says they're EXPENSIVE. <sigh> If I were you I would definately give it a shot, since there is a chance you could maintain your weight AND get pain relief. If I were in your situation I just couldn't bypass a chance to be pain free. Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide to do and how it works for you! in Louisiana > Wow!!! Guest guest
Cymbalta has been a godsend to me and as for the weight gain- I was a little chunky before and haven't notice it being a contributing factor. Go for it! Becca wrote: My mom has FMS and started taking Cymbalta about 2 1/2 months ago.
