Support/social group for moms of special needs children

I want to put this idea out there-see if anyone else is interested

Starting a support/social group for us moms to meet maybe once a week or once a

month, go out, maybe actually have some fun, and at the same provide support..be

able to talk to those who truly understand how we feel..sometimes, it can be

very isolating for moms of special needs children, so we need to band together

and help each other..

Anyone interested or have any other suggestions, email me..

We have a support group from St church every Wednesday We have lunch and share other leisure time. All are moms with children With autism. The group speak Spanish. if you want to Participate. Sent from my iPhone

Hi there! I would suggest and it is only a suggestion... If you would like as part of ASA I could coordinate this together w Debbie as she had the initiative today, so that we can have some sort of organizational support for the meetings and new moms would know. if you agree I would check w my board to see if they could support these meet up meetings w the asa name. Let me know pls... I am open to help organize these as I have done with moms lunch. Looks like we may need area locations - perhaps a different location every month so that each part of the county is covered.

Hi,In Palm Beach County, we have the SMOSK group which meets spontaneously for outings usually in the Boynton area.  We also have a coffee meet run by the Arc in various parts of the county (in Western communities, it is the first Tuesday morning of the month) , then there is a task oriented/support group by of the Other Side of the Fence which meets the 3rd Friday morning of the month (I think) at the Old Wellington Mall, and I am hoping to get a traditional support group through ASA PBC running in the evening starting in March.  More details to come once that is organized.  I know we all need a place to connect and feel supported.    From: sList [mailto:sList ] On Behalf Of fabiolaanatorrez@...Sent: Monday, January 17, 2011 2:03 PMTo: sList Subject: Re: Support/social group for moms of special needs children Hi there!
