Hello,

I have been lurking for a while, trying to learn as much as I can.

I was Dx a few eyars ago with Firbo but my s/s went away and never

came back until a few months ago.

So, I went to my neurologist. He has treated me before for APA

Symdrome and headaches. They did blood works and my APA came back (-).

It waxes and wanes so if I tested today it could be (+). Anyhoo,

I made an appt in NOVEMBER for a the rheumy who Dx me few years ago.

(Our area is short on rhuemy.) So, I finally had my appt last week,

yep after waiting in pain since November. He sid he does not treat

Fibro and does not know of any Rheumy in the area that treats it as

there is nothing more then pain control they can do. He said to go

back to my PCP and she if he will treat me. So, I am back at the

begining. He did gove me the Ultrum (SP), as he DOES NOT do pain

control. What freaking good are you as a rheumy if you do not treat

pain. So, I stuck here crying and in pain not knowing what to do.

Hello,

I don't really have any answers here but I just want to give you a

hug. I cannot stand to hear our syndrome being ignored by the medical

community. It took me a few years to find the right docs. I feel

lucky to have a rheummy thats will work with me, though he does not do

pain meds...

I understand. The rhumy I go to(LOL) believes pt is the answer. She gave me a

med for my OA that blew me up like a balloon. She doesn't do pain meds either

even though she dx me with fibro. She seems to be good with RA so I guess if you

can see it in tests she can justify treatment. I haven't been back to her since

I got a referral to a fibro specialist. His office is to far away for me tro

continue going for regular treatments. Now my neurologist is treating me for

pain management as well as my rls, migraines, and watching my carpal tunnel and

now my fibro. Just a drop in the bucket of dx I have.

How frustrating. Try try try to find another doctor if you can. These people

are not willing to help you. I say don't waste your time on narrow minded

idiots.
