Guest guest
Faith, Yeah, that's where it seems to be - my lower rib on my left side - as I said; I can push on it and know exactly where the pain is. Never thought of it possibly coming from my spine, but that does make some sense. I have degenerative disc disease too, an end stage herniated disc in my lumbar area that I was told to have a fusion on but another doc said no, that it would only exacerbate my fibro. He said if he could send me into the future about 10 years, it would pretty much fuse itself - I hope that is true. I also have some bad discs in my neck and upper back. Besides, I haven't come across too many people that have good outcomes with back surgery. It seems they always need to have additional surgeries. And your back and ribs are connected, so who knows. I do believe though that it's not an ulcer. Inflammation is what I believe it is and it bites. I know what you are saying on the x-rays and the meds. The doctor that said pleurisy said that he would hear a scraping sound through a stethoscope when I took full breaths. He thought there was some noise but couldn't be sure. Okay? So what, are we guessing then? The ulcer diagnosis - the doctor said the costo was more across the chest above your breasts and not on the bottom of your ribs - but that's not what I've read. I would also think that if it was an ulcer I would have a hard time with foods and it would hurt all the time. I had H-pylori once (a bacterial infection of the lining of your stomach) and that was an " all the time " thing until I had it treated. I couldn't even drink water without getting sick on that one. It didn't come and go. That was a long time ago. I tend to agree with the one that said costo - it falls in line with everything I've read and what I feel. And the fact that I don't have it all the time makes me believe its fibro related - after all, not every part of my body hurts every single day in the same place. Except for my lower back - that's daily, every moment, every second, no matter what.
