Good Morning:

I would appreciate your assistance in getting the message out to our ESE parents. Jill Rickel will be presenting information on placing students into appropriate college, therapeutic, and post-secondary settings.

This is an opportunity I think that ESE parents would not want to miss.

I was hoping that some of our teachers who have email addresses of our ESE parents could spread the word.

Thanks

Mayersohn

Jill Rickel has been working with students with learning disabilities and special needs for over 25 years as a tutor, mental health counselor, college admissions coordinator, national director of college admissions, and educational consultant. She has extensive experience in placing students into appropriate college, therapeutic, and post-secondary settings.

Jill graduated from the University of Miami, Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and from Nova Southeastern University with a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology. After working as a mental health counselor and private tutor specializing in students with learning disabilities, Jill became the National Director of Admissions for a residential college program for students with learning differences and emotional/behavioral issues. There, Jill was responsible for all admissions, recruitment, and expansion of admission offices nationwide. Having a desire to get back in the trenches with students and families, Jill founded Academic Options in 2006. Academic Options specializes in working with students with learning, attention, emotional, social, and psychiatric issues for the purpose of therapeutic, college, or post-secondary placement.

Jill has published, and speaks nationally, on the transition from high school to college/post-secondary for students with special needs. She is a professional member of Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP), and Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder (CHADD).
