Guest guest
, Hi, I'm Kandi, I don't believe we've met, I'm kinda new. Anyway, personally I highly recommend at least giving chiropractic a try, BUT make sure you do some research before you pick one. Call around, ask if the dr. treats fibro. I was lucky to find my latest chiro. through the yellow pages. He had an ad stating that he does the " Nimmo-Receptor Tonus Technique " which is " a system of examination and treatment of tight, painful muscles which is very effective in relaxing muscles, relieving pain, restoring normal motion of the spine and joints of the body, and restoring normal nerve function " (taken from his website). I thought that sounded good, so I called & found out that he specializes in helping people with fibro! He's helped me A LOT! When I first went to him I had almost constant pain in my left shoulder & chest, had problems w/dizziness & headaches from my neck, upper back pain, carpal tunnel like problems, etc. Now, all of those problems only rear their ugly heads once in a while... & I can tell now if I need a " tune up. " Honestly, I felt better after the first visit. He had me start out going in 2-3 times a week back in Dec. Now I go once every week or two, for maintenance. I also get the " stim " therapy (electric muscle stimulation). It took a lot of visits at first to get my tight muscles to loosen up & for him to work out the knots/trigger points...only then did he do adjustments. Also, he only adjusts where necessary. There are some chiro.'s out there that go adjustment crazy...you DON'T want that! I don't know what your symptoms are like, but it's a definite possibility that the right chiro. could help you. I really couldn't live without mine. Just be careful, ask lots of questions & don't let them hurt you. Good luck & be sure to post if you go to let everyone know your experience! ~Kandi
