Guest guest
I can never sleep! I go to bed late and get up early. Maybe I am worried about laying down and being in pain, I don't know. My body aches so bad when I don't get enough, and its a vicious cycle.. I don't have any sleep meds or anything and don't know quite what to do.. Any answers? Guest guest
i read somewhere that when we don't sleep, our adrenals make extra cortisol, which is why we feel wired when we don't sleep. making extra cortisol causes adrenal exhaustion, increased infections, diabetes, bone loss, many " wonderfull " additional problems. marg >
Guest guest
It winds me up if I take a full dose. A half dose works better at helping me sleep. I also take a muscle relaxer with it. Jeanne in WI I'm weird. Benadryl winds me up. Tigger (Ruth) in Rhode Island

Guest guest
The theory from the F & F Center is that at 1st you make too much Cortisol until you finally reach severe Adrenal burnout and your body can't keep up so it hardly makes any Cortisol. After a phsical exam, the Dr told me she suspected this and wanted to put me on Cortisol, I thought she was crazy. Before my Cortisol always tested 3x the normal rate and I was tested for Cushing's Syndrome (which I don't have). Sure enough, my blood work showed that my body was hardly producing any Cortisol. It has the same horrible effects on your body as too much Crotisol. Guest guest
you are probably right, brenda, i bot a book all about sleep written by dr.dement, he was the pioneer at stanford who did all the sleep studies way back, used alot of college kids for numerous overnight studies, taught other students to apply electrodes, the book is interesting but acutally very concerning and scarey...as far as sleep deprivation, sleep debt we have to pay back, and all the different accidents caused by poor cognition due to sleep debt, not just sleep quantity but poor sleep qaulity. he did a study with one of the airlines, pilots falling asleep taking off and landing planes, and after finding so many sleep problems, the airline made him stop collecting data. i am becoming increasingly afraid to be driving, myself, i have run into people's mailboxes, broken both rear view mirrors, and am trying to get doc letters so work will not make me commute 90 minutes one way soon. but this dr.dement did also talk about the epidemic of undiagnosed sleep apnea, narcolepsy, even small sleep debts and those people being on the road thinking they can drive fine! so if i don't kill myself driving, someone else might. but i can't afford to quit work and go on SSDI, i need my income and medical/rx benefits and only have about 7 yrs left until i can retire, and then be in retirement poverty, i guess. take care, marg > > Marg, > Yes it is a bad circle; with no end resuts LOL >
