Guest guest
I can't find the post, so am asking- To whomever wrote here about fibro patients needing higher doses of pain medication post operatively in hospital, could you please elaborate as to why, and if you can cite where the information was obtained please, I'd like to take that along to my cardiologist at my follow-up visit. Since I was not given adequate pain relief in the hospital, I wish to establish some dialogue with him regarding this. At this time, all that is noted in my medical records is that I have heightened sensitivity to pain. Well who the heck wouldn't if you lay me flat on my back for hours on end post op, given I have constant hip pain in both hips due to having congenital bilateral hip dislocation all my life, with malformed hips and bone against bone?! Well duh! And ask any chiropractor about the pain people with an extra half a disk in the lower back experience, particularly if in the same position for long periods of time. Ask the chiropractor further what it's like for people with scoliosis to live with that back pain throughout their entire lives. Of course I'm medicated!! Who wouldn't be? And why shouldn't we be properly medicated post-op like those who don't have any bone or joint malformations?! girlsaylor
