THIS IS A CRUCIAL TIME FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. WE MUST ADVOCATE TO KEEP OUR CURRENT MEDICAID WAIVER PROGRAM NOT MANAGED CARE. HMO'S WON'T WORK FOR OUR DIVERSE POPULATION. TELL THE SENATORS "ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL". PLEASE FORWARD THIS ON TO FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS, PROVIDERS, E-LISTS. Action Needed Next Week to Save Medicaid Waiver by United Voices for Choices on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 7:51pm In order to save Medicaid wavier, your action is needed today. Please do not think that others will take action and you don’t have to. Read below to see how your phone call might affect choices and services for your clients. We need thousands of calls to be made next week. The Health & Human Services Committee will meet Tuesday (Feb 15), Wednesday (Feb 16) and Thursday (Feb 17) in the Toni Jennings Community Room, 110 Senate Office Building from 8am to 10:15 each day. A group of 10 people from Brevard County will be going. The subject of the meetings is Medicaid Reform. Please ask your consumers, providers and then take time to place phone calls yourself to EACH committee member on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and tell them, “One Size Does Not Fit All – Leave the DD Waiver Alone – no HMOsâ€. This slogan of “One Size Does Not Fit All†has become a known phrase in Tallahassee for our cause. They will ask for your name and zip code when you call. Following is a list of committee members and their phone numbers. Consider going to ADTs that day and helping your consumers to call.
