Guest guest
Jeanne in WI- Thanks for the reply. I have received IV toradol in Cleveland Clinic when I had my third hip surgery, due to my allergies to narcotic pain relievers. Never had the Lortab. Will have to look at that one to see if it's something we could try. Sadly, my cardiologist was fully informed of my drug allergies, both verbally and in my own hand writing, which I handed to him at my original office consult. They were also reminded about it prior to my heart cath. So what does he do but not order me anything for pain! All cardio docs have standing orders for various narcotic pain relievers for all cardiac cath patients, as it's expected it will be needed. My doc didn't provide me with any pain relief orders, just left me suffer. Girlsaylor > > I didn't initiate this topic, but here's my suggestion anyway. Can you tolerate IV toradol? I was given this following abdominal surgery after being removed from a morphine pump. The toradol was in addition to liquid Lortab. > The morphine had given me a migraine, so did much better with the toradol. After several days in a hospital bed, though, not much is going to help. Those beds are awful. > Jeanne in WI > > I can't find the post, so am asking- > > To whomever wrote here about fibro patients needing higher doses of pain medication post operatively in hospital, could you please elaborate as to why, and if you can cite where the information was obtained please, I'd like to take that along to my cardiologist at my > follow-up visit. > >
