Eastern Standard TimeSubj: TEAM Acts provide more opportunities for students with autism As autism advocates know, the unemployment rate for people with autism is many times higher than for their non-disabled peers. The Transition towards Excellence in Achievement and Mobility (TEAM) Acts instill transition services with the idea that students with significant disabilities can achieve and work. These bills require systems to work together to achieve the best outcomes and focus on maximizing independence and self-sufficiency for students with autism and other significant disabilities. Specifically, the outcomes would focus on integrated employment at minimum wage or higher, or improved access to post-secondary education programs.
