i tried his energyzing powder,b complex,mag/mal acid,sleep formula and

i did buy a pure l-ribose and used it for over a month and it didn't

help with energy at all.

i do stay on antibiotics and have to stay on diflucan. did they do a

blood test to check for candida on you?

i am on other meds, trying new ones for sleep, none for pain except

muscle relaxor, low dose stimulant.

i'm interested in how much better you feel since using them.

thanks, will check back later,

marg

Hi Marg,

I would have to say that trying a couple of the products here or there probably

will not help you. The treatment protocol is:

S: Sleep

H: Hormones

I: Infections

N: Nutrition

So, they will experiment with sleep meds to get you in a deep sleep. Without

deep sleep your body is not able to repair itself.

The they will address your hormonal problems. This includes your adrenals and

thyroid. Remember, they feel that a low normal needs to be treated. This is

done thru rx's and supplements.

Next, they treat the infections that came up in your blood work. They do that

thru rx's, supplements and IV's.

By treating everything else and supplementing with quality vitamins and minerals

they try to get your nutrition up. They don't ask you to do anything about your

diet except to try to eat healthy, and stay away from sugar, caffeine and

alcohol. They realize when you

feel really bad you are not likely going to cook very healthy, so they ask you

to try to do better as you are feeling better.

The IV's are important to the treatment, but like I said, I just couldn't afford

it. At one point, when I was not responding to treatment, she wanted me to have

them done once a week for 8 weeks. I only had a few done and I did not notice

anything.

This is why I don't think taking a few things here and there would help most

people with severe fibro. It would probably help those with a mild case.

So, the big question is if I feel any better. I'm sad to say, " NO, I do not

feel any better. " In fact, I just had one of the worst flare-ups I've ever had.

Now, before you write off the F & F Center I do have to share with you why I

think my case is different from most that would/are going to the center. Eleven

years ago, I had breast implants put in. After my 4th appt. I asked my Dr. why

I was not feeling better. She told me that I should have improved significantly

by now, but that she had had a few women who did not respond to treatment until

they had their implants removed. Now, years ago I wondered if they had anything

to do with my health problems. I researched them (saline...but still surrounded

in silicone) and I didn't find anything startling. Also, it costs about 7k to

10k to have them removed. So, when my Dr. said that, I thought tough $%#@, I

can't afford to have them out and there is no reason to. When I got home, just

out of curiosity, I googled saline implants and fibro. OMG!! I was terrified!

Things have changed since I researched it all those years ago. This was on a

Thursday. I literally had them removed the following Tuesday. That was about a

month ago. She has since adjusted my thyroid and cortisol and is hoping that I

will start feeling better soon. I also belong to a saline support group and

most women remain sick until they do a lot of detoxing. So, I am doing that now

along with the other stuff. I will probably give the center 2 more months and

if I don't feel better, I'm done. I really hope it will work because I've

already tried everything else and my fibro is debilitating.

Jill - I wish you all the best and hope that going through the surgery to remove

your implants and the F & F center will help to improve your FM. I'd consider

one of those centers, but I'd have to go to Chicago, and don't really have the

money for the treatment without insurance coverage. Take care.

hi jill,

thanks, yeh, i read all about the shin protocol.

which meds are you on, like for sleep, mostly? if you want to email

me directly, do. i have had sleep problems all my life, which is why

i think my fibro started as pediatric fibro after an severe injury to

my leg. but i have never felt refreshed by any amount of

sleep...except i did feel and function better when i worked a second

shift job.

but did they find any infections in you, other than the yeast? was

that found in bloodwork? because alot of labs don't do the right test

for yeast. i was found to have chronic non-sexually transmitted

chlamydia pneumonia that i take doxycycline for most days. so that

could also be my infectious trigger in addition to the injury.

i was told i inherited adrenal dysfunction which was found by doing a

saliva test, but yet cortisol bloodwork was normal. but the saliva

samples are taken 4 times a day and at midnight.

teitelbaum didn't talk much in his book about diet, he did just say

to eat as healthy as possible and avoid the few things you mentioned.

i have read alot about problems with implants, but i do not have

them. so i would have to agree it is worth getting them out, too. do

let us know how things go after you get them out. i would have to

think it would take possibly years to detox from them completely,

similar to how long it can take to detox after removing silver dental

fillings.

thanks for your opinions and info eventho you are in a different

situation with your implants.

take care,

marg
