Guest guest
Hi , For the last year I've been living in Texas, but I'm from AZ. I love Texas, but the humidity is killing me so we are moving back in a couple of months. As much as I love TX, I can't wait to get back to the beautful desert and the mountains!! I was wondering if you have found any good support groups in the area and which Dr.'s you see? Where in AZ do you live? Jill Re: Pets... LOL - remember doggies can't tell time so to them you've been gone forever! LOL I still keep in touch with the gal I got Dayzee from. I send her pictures and let her know that Dayzee was meant for me. She loves hearing about her and she said I am one of the reasons she rescues - whatever that means! LOL I just figure Dayzee was meant to be mine hugs angela wrote: oh, ! thank you for adopting this sweet baby! so many animals are given up for something as simple as deafness. i have a silly deaf pug. i call her snuggle puggy and pugsley and i sing to her silly songs i make up for her (sung to the rubber ducky theme-snuggle puggy, you're the one! you make cuddles lots of fun! snuggle puggy, I'm awfully fond of you! -there are like 12 verses of it)...and she can't even hear me! she is a true dork....her tongue is too long so it hangs out of her mouth constantly and she runs in little circles until she gets too tired to run any more. but she is a big squishy love girl. as for letting them go....i love them all. truly. but when you have this many, mostly untrained, dogs in one house...it's easy to lighten the load as long as you feel confident in whomever you adopt to. i am quite nosey and ask a lot of questions etc. and i always say i will take them back. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi Jill! I couldn't deal with humidity but I have an awfully hard time with the extreme heat we have also. I am in Northwest Phoenix. I just go to my GP for my fibro. I've gone to him for a very long time but he is not taking any new patients and he is getting ready to retire *sad*. I don't know what I am going to do when he does. There is a good rhuemy in Mesa - a Dr. Pace. A lot of people recommend her. I may travel down there when my doc retires! I do not know of any support group on the west side. There are some who meet in Mesa but they meet during the day and since I work full time, it would not be possible for me to attend. What part of AZ are you moving back to? hugs jill larion wrote: Hi , For the last year I've been living in Texas, but I'm from AZ. Guest guest
Wow! You are really close to us....we have a home in Anthem. Who do you get your pain meds from? I did go to The Pain Center, but I think I would like to go somewhere else when I get back home. What do you do for work? My dog, Piper, has Valley Fever. She got it when we lived there. I'm afraid that my other dogs will get it when we move back. It's such a huge problem now. Jill Re: For in AZ Hi Jill! Guest guest
LOL you are down the street - I'm at 35th Ave and Bell Rd! LOL What is the Pain Center? Does insurance pay for it? I just get Tylenol #4 from my GP. That's about all he will give me. I work for local City gov't and I am a Mgt. Ass't. I've been there for 21 years in July - have 2 more years until I 'can' retire - 4 more years until I 'should' retire. I get more if I can stick it out until I complete my 25th year. I don't know if my dogs have ever had V.F. I know they say most of us have had it. When are you moving back? hugs jill larion wrote: Wow! You are really close to us....we have a home in Anthem. Guest guest
It's the Pain Center of AZ. The Dr.'s are specialized in pain management. The office I go to is right across the street from C Lincoln Hospital. It's probably 5 mins from you. Yes, insurance covers it. I think you have to have a referral. They will rx the narcotics, but only a month at a time. So, you go in once a month so they can make sure you're behaving yourself.......DEA requires Dr.'s to do this to make sure they are rx responsibly. It is standard procedure at most pain centers. If you need pain meds,, you should have your Dr. refer you. The thing about the Pain Centers I've gone to is that they only try to manage your pain. They don't try to help you figure out how to get rid of it or what is causing it. That's why I have a Fibro Specialist and the get my pain meds form a pain center. I bet you're excited about retiring! I'm not sure exactly when I'm moving back, but it will be by July at the latest. Just in time for the heat wave! Jill Re: For in AZ Hi Jill!
