Hello everyone,

My name is . I am a single mom of two and I have been dealing

with Fibromyalgia for about 9 years now. The root cause of my Fibro was

being hit by a car in 1995, along with other traumatic events in the

few years following.

It is great to find a group of people who understand and can offer

support. I also hope to offer as much support as I can. I look forward

to getting to know you all.

You were hit by a car? Yikes! Being a single mom with fibro must be so hard.

How bad is your fibro?

,

Thanks for the welcome, and welcome to you too! :-) I think it is

great that you are here to support your gf and learn more about this

dreadful illness. I wish more loved ones would do the same. It would be

so helpful to those of us who have to struggle with this on a daily

basis, and don't have many people in our lives who " get it " .

Jill,

Yes, I was hit by a car crossing the street when this idiot who

wasn't paying attention made a left turn (on a red light) right into

me and my son! My son was 3 at the time and luckily he was walking on

my right (I was hit on my left and fell on him).

Being a single mom with fibro, who also works at home, studies and

homeschools my kids (triple yikes!) can be extremely hard. I

sometimes don't know how I get through some days, but I do.

My fibro is not as bad as it was a few years ago, when I didn't know

what it was; but I generally have all-over pain, in varying degrees,

every day of my life. I can't think of one day in the last 9 years

that I did not have pain. I also suffer from migraines (for 29

years), Arthritis in my left hand and Carpal Tunnel in my right,

Sciatica, IBS, severe allergies and skin sensitivity.

So, to reiterate my previous statement...I don't know how I do it!

... a BIG welcome! It is almost like when we find this site, we have

finally found someone in this world that understands what we go through. Things

no one else can ever understand and things I cannot discuss with most people in

my life..... I can vent them here. We are all in the same boat. It seems

common that some kind of trauma, physical or emotional, has occured in our lives

and set this beast into motion. I don't think we will ever know why.

hugs to ya,

Debra V.
