Guest guest
We have relocated to Florida from Pennsylvania and are still covered by our health care plan with Blue Cross PA . Our broker in PA suggests we switch to a personal choice plan under our small corporate plan in PA since we will then not need primary physician referrals .We will then be treated as in network. However I do not believe Blue Cross will cover any of our son's ABA schooling but they have been paying part of his hyperbaric treatments which has been helpful. i hear that United Healhcare will pay for some ABA but we need some specialist advice. Can anyone recommend a good insurance broker who really understands different healthcare options ?
Guest guest
I have BCBS of NC and it pays for more than half of my son's ABA. My parents have BCBS of PA and I checked into their plan and BCBS of PA is 100% better than BCBS of NC and 200% better than BCBS of FL. I do not know anything about United but I know a lot about BCBS. I have a friend who has United and it pays for her son's ABA so it may be worth checking into. BCBS is the biggest pain in the a## I have ever delt with so I would never recommend them to anyone. I will however tell you to keep you BCBS of PA instead of changing to BCBS of FL. united health care or blue cross- need independent advice We have relocated to Florida from Pennsylvania and are still covered by our health care plan with Blue Cross PA . Guest guest
As an ABA provider we deal with all of the insurance companies. The thing to consider is if the plan falls under the specifications of the state mandates. PA does have an autism mandate as does Florida. It's not so much the insurance carrier as it is the composition of the corporation's plan. In Florida in order for a plan to have the Autism full benefits the company's plan must be 50+ people and not a self funded plan. Usually small group plans (less than 50 employees) do not have the coverage nor do individual plans. Self funded plans are excluded from the mandate. Also the Federal Employee Plans do not cover ABA. If you would like assistance in determining if your health plans cover ABA feel free to contact our office at . We can help you get this information and find you a provider in your area.
