Guest guest
It was me or one of who talked to ALLSUP yesterday, she told me I really needed to get filed with them soon if my last reported FT work was 05 which I am thinking it is, she told me if I wait that once out of 5yrs I can not file SSD, which is based on my work history and pays out more, I know my SSD intake worker told me with this I would get appx 800.00mo, and SSI almost nothing. I was not eligible for SSI anyway as they auto apply you, and it came back instant that I owned a auto worth over 3,000. and it put me out, but I could sell it and reapply and be eligible, which makes NO sense since I would then have 3,000 in cash! Anyway all is I can say, was I was directed to ASSUP as I was told they handled all the stuff for you and made it easy, I was told yesterday, I needed to get those prior things i posted which and there is a Cut Off of 5yrs, before you are no longer eligible????/ As everything probably different person different experience, not saying I would not use them, just my control over getting Dr's to file the medical report's and they agree I do this has taken time and not done yet. Thanks for update Sharon wrote: After reading about someone's call to Allsup, I called them to see if they would give me some information that might be helpful for people who do call them. I was told that the main TWO things that an individual needs to meet are that an individual needs to have worked 5 years out of the last ten and preferably in the last 5 years. Also, the individual needs to have paid the SS FICA tax -- i.e., not have worked for someone who may have paid an individual under the table or have paid into a company sponsored disability program. And if anyone is interested in checking the requirements, click on the Allsup ad that appears as a sponsor of this site. I know that you may have to go to one section of this group to find the website for Allsup here, but I found them listed on the internet when I was checking for info on filing with SS online. Hope this will be more helpful than some of my previous postings on Allsup. I still have nothing but good things to say for them and they were very helpful and supportive while I was waiting for the process to end. And as I have said before, I file via Allsup in, I am pretty sure, September of 2006 and was, I know, declared totally disable as of my last working day in November 2004. I received the letter stated that fact in March of 2007.
Guest guest
I would be very careful with Allsup though. Because they WILL fight for you - but you have to remember though they are Not attorney's they are only representatives - yes they will go to court with you of you have to go BUT if you get denied your benefits and you want to appeal it - they have been known to drop you & your case and tell you that you must find a attorney now to go on. Yes this has happened to friends of mine. So just a fair warning be VERY careful of these types of " we will fight for you and you have nothing to worry about. " Yeah right now you don't but what about later down the road if you get denied so many times?? So Be Careful who you choose Laur
