Guest guest
I am glad you made out well with new Doc. Debra is right this is an old drug. huh? I do find the Rhumie's who belive in Fibro, like mine does, reach way back to some of those old meds. I remember my mom being on this,, as they gave her valium first and she flipped on it, happens in some. But at least your right you have someone willing to work with ou. And to find a Rhumie who prescribed pain med's that is a find!, Mine belives in my pain and treats with my Soma and doesn't like to see me on as much vicodin as I need to function, or just only begin to, and really would not like me own them continually, but I did enough of the pain solo for too many yrs and can't go back. I do believe for me the It is strange though way back when my now youngest child was a baby and all this weird stuff started coming into my life, and I went round and round with Doc's, they thought sure and tested Lupus, and Lymes disease, also Desert Fever!, the Dr out in Ca. when living there thought sure one would come back pos, but didn't so I lived up until 4 yrs ago as a hyperchondriac, crazed person, though after about 2 yrs way back, I just shut down to Dr, except for emergency, and held it all in, I think this is where my panic attacks started, I was burning my body out hiding all my pain, hurt, and feelings, and it had to come out somewhere. I hope it is not lupus or lymes disease. Elavil is amitriptyline which is commonly prescribed. It is originally one of the first antidepressants but is not prescribed for that much anymore because it tends to make us sleepy. (also there is just a better line of antidepressants now days). It is also prescribed for sleep and sometimes for nerve pain. ( I am not sure how effective it is for nerve pain). hugs, Debra V. rorasmom wrote: Went to new Rhemey today.. nice indian man. says I definity have fibromyalgia but not sure about RA... took about 15 viles of blood from me and took fluid out of left knee {ouch} and xray on knee and prescirbed Envril for sleep {never heard of it} He that my fibro might be from another disease. He thinks I might have lupus or lymes disease. won't know for a while, but at least he believes in my pain and has started on a road to finding out exactly whats going on. Happy at least with that.. got pain meds, finally.. imagine that, on the day of my rhemey appt. I hope no disease.. just relieved its over! and he seems to be in my corner...
