Guest guest
Hi ya'll, I'm Hinky and I've had Fibro for about 15-17 years. I had been on Elavil & Flexrl for ever it seems. It really didn't do much for me as I stayed in pain from morning till night. Well, I was just diagnoised with Long QT syndrom ( you may or may not have heard of it) anyway there are certain drugs I can't have well, elavil was one of them!! The have put me on cymbalta and I've been taking it for about a month now and I can't believe the difference it has made in my pain level!!!! I really haven't had any side effects either. Has anyone in this group taken this and does it keep working after you've been on it for a long time??? I saw a Neroligist, and he's the one who put me on it. Please give me any insight on this medicene that you can, thanks so much ya'll Hinky

Guest guest
--- Hi , Thanks for the welcome. As to your question on what is long Qt.... Well, it's heart arrhythmia problem. You may have heard of it referred to as instant death arrhythmia,. I'm sure you have heard about those football players in high school that just drop dead on the field? Well their hearts just stop. That's what happens to people that have a long Qt interval in the heart rhythm's. some have it worse than others and have to have a defibrillator implanted in them. I don't have one of those but there are many, many drugs that we Long Qt'ers cant have. It VERY important that we NEVER get them as they can bring on an attack.... so Elavil was one of them and off of it I came. Most antidepressants are on the list but Cymbalta was not so that's why they put me on it. I have been on it for a month and had an EKG do 2 weeks ago and my Qt intervals have not been effected. I'm also on meds. for the QT. I'm a walking mess....LOL But I'm still smiling Hinky In Fibromyalgia_Support_Group , " Andersen " wrote: > > Hi Hinky, > Welcome....tell me what Long QT syndrome is...never heard of it.
