Guest guest
Sorry Lori, wish I could help, but I was lucky enough to stay away from that stuff. I'm sure there are members who will be able to give you some info. Mojo Depression >some of you > out there know which antidepressants have worked best for you. Guest guest
>I'm so sorry you have been having such a difficult time.< Thanks, Barb. For me depression seems to always be lurking at the threshold of my life. If something happens that I don't know how to handle, it comes to the forefront. Lately, I have been struggling with a client who is trying to " automate " my work. Since I am a creative (a graphic designer), automation just isn't appropriate for me but I am dependent on this work. A tough situation for me. >Unfortunately when we spiral down with depression it is difficult to see what is happening.< I know that I have the same " double depression " that Stacey has mentioned, a kind of background depression that is worsened by foreground problems. >I need to pull myself up right now and reading your message has given me more encouragement.< I'm glad to hear it. Please email me if you'd like. Maybe we can provide a little support for each other. >I hope you are doing better now - we forget that there are others who still depend on us. Even if we want to give up we can't for their sakes. I think sometimes we just need someone to talk to who can understand. < Yes, and there don't seem to be many who do. At least, on this list we have a lot of willingness to talk about depression. I find it encouraging too. Guest guest
I know a lot of us have depression along with the rest of the crap we deal with. I was wondering if any of you have been on one of the depression boards. I did about 7 or 8 years ago and it made me more depressed, but I was wondering if it was any different. I'm trying to find out more on light therapy. Tigger (Ruth) in Rhode Island
Guest guest
I think you need to find the right type of boards. I am a moderator on a PPD board. The Admins and/or Moderators all have had some sort of training, including crisis intervention. I think if you get a bucnh of depressed people around without a trained moderators, you run into issues. I;m sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience. Guest guest
Tigger, I was on a couple just about 6 months ago and it was too depressing for me too. I quit them after a couple months. It did help, if only to help me see that there were a whole lot of people worse off than I was. I didn't stay on it that long; couldn't keep up. I'm sorry you're having a rough time of it.
