Tigger- If you haven't gotten your answer yet, I think I remember when I

went to the store and my frined bought, and I couldn't then, she did ask this

and he said you don't have to but they kind of recommend it just for what he

said was to be sure and get the best proper comfort. ????? She ended up

getting it, but she also took it on credit, and bought everything, I think if I

could get one and couldn't afford the bottom but could get the rest with pillows

I would certainly do it, then not have one. I need to get the head up and down

so I have alot of saving to do. As of the past two wks, it will be worth every

dime spent!

Jana - did you purchase the foundation as well as the mattress? I notice

it's an option not to get the foundation.

I believe the two beds (sleep number and temp.) are comparable in price.

There are different levels of the Sleep Number to make it a bit more

affordable. I believe there is a model 3, 5, 7, and 9. We bought the 7 and

it was about 2300.00. They do have a 30-day trial period, but we knew after

the first week that we liked it. It is supposed to last much longer than

conventional mattresses--I guess time will tell on that! Good luck--I hope

you find something that works for you.
