Guest guest
Spring Break is March 14-18 The Cadenza Center will be open when schools are closed! Our full-day programs are specifically for children and teens ages 4 – 17 with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities. This intimate, small-group program is run by experienced clinicians who specialize in working with this population. Incorporating behavior therapy strategies to support each individual’s optimal success and participation, our clinicians will facilitate a therapeutic experience that incorporates music and art therapy, play therapy, and social skills training. Children will be placed into groups of no more than 4 children. Programming from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Supervised play from 8:30 – 9:00 and 3:30 – 5:00 available at no additional charge. Program participants will take part in three small group interventions each day consisting of music therapy, art therapy, theatre/drama, social skills/play therapy, and life skills training. Participants will engage in interactive activities designed to promote development of social communication skills (turn-taking, reciprocity, perspective taking, body language recognition) while fostering resiliency and promoting independence. Examples of lessons include making friends, inviting a fiend to play, coping with conflict, waiting for your turn, complimenting others, joining and leaving a conversation and more. Active play time outside is planned daily at the park across the street (weather permitting).
