All I can say is that you have touched many lives here. From sharing your

personal trials and offering advice and just plain old support and friendship.

To me you are a human being with some faults like all of us, but also one with a

big heart that understands and cares for others. That is who you are to me.

You are a part of this website in such a way that we will all miss you and think

of you. I just hope that where ever you are going that you will be able to make

the best of it and work towards getting life on track someday. You deserve the

best in life no matter what wrongs you may have done here and there. Ain't

nobody perfect .

We have seen the very deepest parts of you through your posts. That may be a

part that others do not see. So, in that sense, we know who you are better than

most folks do.

love ya,

to a friend,

Debra V.

Who are you to us? You are one who's been there and done that, as

many of us have. You are one who experiences life's rejections and is

able to give them voice and recognition. You are one who experiences

full in the face non-preferential treatment, something I have also

done. I understand how you feel. Sometimes I too don't see much when

it comes to people realizing what I have to say.

We come here because we have a series of common enemies. They are

doctors who don't hear. People who don't want to understand. Families

struggling to see. Pain we cannot explain. Fear we cannot give voice.

A health care system that is beyond simple or eternally caring. A

government that makes decisions based on fallible reasoning in regard

to SSI or SSD. Truly, I do see where you are coming from. You are a

beacon of understanding. You are a friend amidst so many who simply

claim to be. I may not have known you long, but this is what you are

to me.

I have only been here a couple of weeks but for me you bring humor into

a life that is full of pain and exhaustion and sometimes feels

worthless. BUT the encouragement that I have gained just for me being

here has been so wonderful. on the days when I get up and think I cant

make it today , you will have sent something through to give me a smile.

For that I thank you dear new friend. And I am praying that as you go

through this you will find the encouragement you need and the will to

keep on going. Soft hugs

I'm sure you make a big difference in your daughter's life. You sound suicidal.

I hope I'm wrong, as it's too late to do anything about it by now.

> What difference have I made in anyones life?

,

I struggle a bit with this myself. I'm on disability, have been

since 2005, and 32 years of busting a$$ to build a career seems

sometimes like it's gone. I feel sometimes like I'm useless. The

catch in that kind of thinking is that we have a *right* to be on the

planet, and pursuing life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,

even if we're disabled, or living in a trailer in our mom's yard.

Our right to exist and breathe our portion of air doesn't depend on

the amount of taxes we pay or what we accomplish in any given day.

If it did, there would be a whole lot of rich/famous people who are

SOL. ;D ;D

There is an interconnectedness between people that we can't even

comprehend or decipher. Pull someone out of the mix and it's like

dominoes.

How have you helped me personally? Watching you, a guy recovering

from addiction, basically homeless. When I read your posts, I see

hope that even a guy who has hit bottom can make incredible progress

toward recovery. You and I are different as any two people could be,

but we share a bond of pain that we have trouble controlling. We

probably also share a bond in a long history of depression. You hear

me? I draw hope from you. You help me get through the bad days and

the bad flares. When I am in a bad flare and can't do much besides

lie on my bed, one of the people I think about is you. If you can

make it through the bad times, as you always have, so can I.

You mentioned that you'd gone off your antidepressant. If you are in

a crisis, you have done very well to reach out to this group. Now I

hope that you will reach out to your medical support, and get back on

your meds, go to a meeting if you can or call someone from your

addiction support groups. Just in your posts, you have taken a bit

step toward turning things around. You have asked for support, and

people have responded. The next step is up to you to make phone

calls to your medical and " on-site " support people.

You have made it through bad spots before. You can make it through

this one too. Through this group, your addiction recovery, and your

medical support people, you have assembled a toolbox of things to do

to help you get through it. Whether or not you realize that you did

it, you pulled a tool out of that toolbox and used it, by posting to

this group. Keep going. You can and will do this.

Z (I visualize my " toolbox " as a shiny red metal one, by the

way)

Ladies, you've done a Mitzvah. <insert name of beneficent deity, who
