Guest guest
I understand how everyone feels about the lack of options for adults. I am also doing my part to get things going in that area. I decided to start by implementing programming in the Palm Beach high schools as a way to start. I am happy to report that our baking program is underway at Dwyer. The school and district is totally on board. The students will be getting access points for the participation towards their diploma. We are forming a committee composed of parent and student volunteers, ESE teachers, therapists, and area ESE staff to develop the curriculum and administration. If you are a parent of a child at Dwyer and would like to join the committee, please drop me a line. After Dwyer, we are going to expand to the other schools in Palm Beach. From there, I want to expand to a post-secondary program. I also heard that Helen and Gottesman are forming a group to develop options for adult employment options. So hopefully in the near future, with all the input from the families, we will have many more options then we have now. Herskowitz
