Guest guest
my 5 year old son with pdd is food neophobic. terrified to taste a new food. I have worked with aba therapists and speech pathologists who supposedly specialise in feeding issues and it only made the problem worse. All he eats is cheese, milk, bread, pasta and mac and cheese. He is sick all of the time with colds. Can anyone help? Debbie

As a child I had a severe aversion to certain textures which today I still have trouble tolerating. I used to chew my meat and spit it out because I could never swallow it. I figured out how to excuse myself and go to the bathroom to spit it out and also feed the dog to hide it from my parents. Anyways because of my personal experience I did a lot of research and have helped many children. I even worked with one so severe she was on a feeding tube and after 5 therapist they came to me. I was newly out of college and I told them the same thing that I couldn't promise anything. I started with her in August, by November she was tolerating food and by March her tube was removed. I also wrote an article that was posted in a local magazine. Anyways if you are interested please feel free to call me at my office at . Sincerely, Ilene R.
