Not dairy/casein free but gluten free. Also Facebook has several gluten free Pages like glutenfree diva, gluten free and some others. I like reading all the newest research on how gluten adversely affects the body. I feel like it's validating many of us who adhere to special diets, for both our kids and ourselves. I've struggled with my own conscience in reading how those with an actual diagnosis of celiac are destroying their intestines by continuing to eat gluten... The lack of good studies on what gluten does to our kid's bellies over time... In other words, by continuing to eat gluten products, is my son's digestive system being damaged over time? It's a struggle because I (and those around him) see the effects of food on him though mainstream research and other people don't see/don't believe, etc. Leaving a struggle of am I doing the right thing? If my son had been dx'd with celiac, this would not be a discussion. He wouldn't be allowed to have gluten. If he had diabetes, he wouldn't be allowed to have sugar. Then, negotiations are off the table and parents, teachers, etc. Wouldn't give him that look of "poor kid. Mom won't let him have..." or sneak it to him, etc.I try to remember that several years ago, celiac was not a diagnosed condition... Now it is and it's a very serious one.Wonder if some of our kids digestive issues will someday be considered serious enough to warrant concern and validation and I hope it won't be too late for some... Did I make any sense? It's so hard to convey thoughts on a phone keyboard! ;-)Sent from my iPhoneBegin forwarded message:Date: March 11, 2011 10:36:24 AM ESTTo: austintandt@...Subject: What's For Dinner? by www.GlutenFreeChecklist.com What's for Dinner?
