Guest guest
asked me very casually the other day if I wanted to be added to her list now that I am working with Noah again, and I said, " Sure! Why not? " Wow! I have a lot of catching up to do around here! I haven't had a chance to do much but just browse some of the posts so far, but I can't wait to get to know all of you better. Some of you may remember me from when I worked in the area back in the early 90's, so I look forward to reconnecting with some of you as time and schedule allow. Since the autism people in my life prefer Facebook right now, that is where I tend to do most of my virtual interacting. If you are interested in connecting there, just send me a friend request any time. My general page is Jill Grigg Emmerich, and my biz page is Mountain Top Associates. I have also begun two blogs that should tell you what I am all about better than I can in a brief email, so check them out if you want to know more about me and what I do all day. The first is anonymous, mainly because my father reads every word I write, and he is just not ready to integrate this information quite yet. However, if you are a family living with people with autism, I'm sure you may be able to relate to some of my personal experiences right now. Pass it on if you feel inclined, but I do NOT require credit for this one. http://autismandalzheimers.blogspot.com/2011/02/autism-thought-for-day.htm The other is more treatment focused, and anyone who would like to, is welcome to participate in the blog. I am hoping it will help connect providers, rather than keep us all in " competition " mode - plenty of work for all, my friends! http://undoctorjill.blogspot.com/ So, please say " Hi " in any of these venues, and if I don't get back to you as quickly as desired, hit me again. My brain's got a lot going on these days.

Guest guest
Sorry! I guess I forgot to mention my official title, credentials, yadda, yadda... I am a behavior analyst, and have been working with people with autism and developmental disabilities since 1988. Oddly enough, I later discovered I had been living with autism long before that. (I have a father, brother, son, 2 nephews and a niece who are also in the spectrum.) I also have a daughter who is not in the spectrum, but has significant language and learning disabilities. I own my own business, Mountain Top Associates, which is basically just me doing some behavioral consulting when I can squeeze it into my life. I have been working with to take CDC+ funding in FL, and I think that is all worked out now, or will be soon. I will be working in a residential facility in Margate through Devereaux soon, and am hoping to set up some social skills groups for teenagers in the area once I can get a space located - definitely before school lets out in hopes of having something set up over the summer. My area of focus right now is adolescents and adults, so really looking forward to working with some of you as we try to improve services for that age range in Southern Florida. Send me your name and contact info if you would be interested in any social skills groups I manage to put together for kids middle school age and up, and I will keep you posted on my progress in that area. Thanks, and look forward to getting to know you all better! Jill
