Guest guest
Hi, I'm really interested in this burning tongue issue. A couple of times a year...it feels like my tongue is just scalded...horrible...nothing helps it. It lasts for a month or so. Could this be another fibro fun thing???? /Mi
Guest guest
I am too; I have noticed that I have started to get more canker and mouth sores than I have ever gotten before. Is it the fibro? Or the meds? I do plan to check with my dentist when I go next month to make sure there's nothing else going on, but it is painful. One thing I have found and I'm not sure it would help with the burning tongue issue is a product called Peroxyl. It's a hydrogen peroxide rinse that you gargle with that helps with any mouth issues that may be going on - like canker or mouth sores or irritations from braces, or from where you may have bitten yourself (something I'm good at). It helps to promote the healing of those areas. It may help with the burning tongue issues, who knows? It would be worth a shot and if it doesn't help, well having it won't hurt if you ever bite the inside of your mouth and develop a sore! Guest guest
Darlene, That is a good idea...it can't hurt. I know i even rinse my mouth with Listerine hoping the burning from that will fix the burning tongue! /Mi Re: Burning tongue I am too; I have noticed that I have started to get more canker and mouth sores than I have ever gotten before. Guest guest
Hi, Just thought I'd put my 2 cents worth in on the burning tongue issue. I had the burning tongue several times. The first time my doc told me try Prilosec, which is for acid reflux. I was a little confused as I didn't have any of the typical " heart burn " or discomfort that normally goes along with acid reflux. He told me that I may be getting just enough acid in my saliva that it was affecting my tongue. Well.............i went ahead and tried it and it worked! It took about a week and It went away. So now when I experience the buring tongue I take the Prilosec for about a month and then stop it until I need it again. I have noticed that I don't seem to get it quite as often as I used to. Don't know if this will help, but thought I'd throw it out there:) Mona To: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group@...: navydaisy228@...: Wed, 26 Mar 2008 12:37:12 +0000Subject: Re: Burning tongue I am too; I have noticed that I have started to get more canker and mouth sores than I have ever gotten before.
