Fundraiser for at The Melting Pot in Coral Springs on March 24, 2011 5:30-8:00pm has Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. Her parents are trying to get her a Autism Service Dog. It cost $15,000 to obtain and train a service dog!! Benefit at The Melting Pot; $35 a person plus tip and tax you get your cheese, meat, and desserts The Melting Pot is giving back $10 for every meal purchased under PAWS FOR AUTISM!! Plus there will be a Silent Auction and all of the money raised in that will go towards 's service dog. http://www.servicedogforchristina.moonfruit.com/----

, this is a way to get a service dog, but people should also try to contact Customs and Border Patrol or even the K-9 units, and ask if they have any dogs that can't work anymore (not because of sickness) or dogs that did not met the requirements or did not pass the test.  They are always looking for families or individuals that want to adopt an already trained dog.

I also suggest prison dog programs and working with a personal trainer. Also there is Sunshine State Service Dogs in your area. http://www.facebook.com/sunshinedogsNo family in my opinion should have to pay that kind of money for a service dog.

This information might be useful. I know most of the dogs are trained to work

w/ the deaf or physically disabled, but they might have one trained

appropriately to work with a child on the spectrum.
