just have to make one more comment about the doctor --- ask him if

Thats what got me the most....He acted like I had a few tense muscles! And

if I would only eat better (which I do) and exercise (I do when I can) that I

would be fit as a fiddle and my pain would be magically gone....Oh, and I'm

supposed to drink wine at nite ( I dont drink and certainly wouldnt drink

with medication)......When he touched certain points of my back, I actually

yelled, and he goes oh your muscles are a little " rough " ...Who knows what that

even means? I really hate him now! I never went to him with fibro complaints,

since the doctor I was seeing prior (she moved to VA), diagnosed me with it

and I was able to keep it at bay until recently when I am getting bad flares

very often..Plus it seems to have gotten worse since the initial diagnosis...

What is the medication that they have taken off the market that helped you?

Well, even though I never intended to reveal the name, it was

Duract. What happened was that somewhere during the year it was

available, the drug company found there was evidence that it could be

benefical to dental patients after certain procedures. I don't know

if the dentists were not given the information they needed or not!

But the protocol was that the drug was not to be used for more than

10 days. The scripts were written, as I remember it, one pill 3

times a day --- the typical every 8 hours. But as I said the problem

did not occur (heart related problems, if memory services me

correctly) --- until the dental profession started using it.

I had a big disagreement with a co-worker about it at the time the

company voluntarily pulled it about the 10 days; I took it only on an

as needed basis, which usually was on a Saturday. I have called the

company and spoken to someone in the appropriate department as I have

been told that another pharma company could buy the formula, tweek it

and get approval for it to be back on the market. I also think if

and when it happens, it will of course, have a different name.

I may just call one of my friends and ask which department to call to

see if another company has bought the patent. I don't know that

Lyrica is the same drug with a bit of changes or not, but I can send

an email to one of my friend or check the company site to see if will

jog my memory on which department to talk to!
