Guest guest
Well, even though I never intended to reveal the name, it was Duract. What happened was that somewhere during the year it was available, the drug company found there was evidence that it could be benefical to dental patients after certain procedures. I don't know if the dentists were not given the information they needed or not! But the protocol was that the drug was not to be used for more than 10 days. The scripts were written, as I remember it, one pill 3 times a day --- the typical every 8 hours. But as I said the problem did not occur (heart related problems, if memory services me correctly) --- until the dental profession started using it. I had a big disagreement with a co-worker about it at the time the company voluntarily pulled it about the 10 days; I took it only on an as needed basis, which usually was on a Saturday. I have called the company and spoken to someone in the appropriate department as I have been told that another pharma company could buy the formula, tweek it and get approval for it to be back on the market. I also think if and when it happens, it will of course, have a different name. I may just call one of my friends and ask which department to call to see if another company has bought the patent. I don't know that Lyrica is the same drug with a bit of changes or not, but I can send an email to one of my friend or check the company site to see if will jog my memory on which department to talk to! -- In Fibromyalgia_Support_Group , SpiritSpeaker7@... wrote: > > > In a message dated 3/27/2008 12:52:48 A.M.
