Hello Everyone:

My name is Reilly and I am co-chair of a group of volunteers to bring a

Miracle League facility to Miami Dade County. Below is a snapshot of our

efforts. Please spread the word to others that may be interested or that may

benefit from our project. Projected opening of the facility will be the second

half of 2012.

The Miracle League of Miami Dade is a newly formed organization of volunteers

from Coral Gables, Pinecrest, and Palmetto Bay that is in the process of raising

the funds to build a baseball facility that removes the barriers keeping

children with special need disabilities off the baseball field and enables them

to fully enjoy America's favorite pastime. A barrier for these children arises

from the natural grass fields used in conventional youth leagues. Miracle League

teams play on a specially designed, rubberized turf field that accommodates

wheelchairs, walkers and is designed to help prevent injuries and promote fun!

Presently there are 235 Miracle Leagues in North America. The Miracle League of

Miami Dade became the 236th.
