Still, since I take a statin drug I really need to bite the bullet get some. I'm also out of ALA but to be truthful I've not noticed any difference in readings with it and EPO. I do notice differences with L-Arginine, however, and like you, use 3-4 grams daily. Or were you speaking of the whey powder that you think arginine may be the active ingredient in? My FBG this morning was 106 which is lower than usual for me in the mornings. This is odd because I cheated last night and ate potato chips so expected to see higher than normal readings today. I'd be thrilled if my morning BG's were always in the low 100's. I go today to fight the battle of wanting Byetta (sp?) with my NP and the doctor she works with. I'm wondering about Tumeric. I just don't cook much that it would be good in, so the thing is do I add yet another supplement? Given the price of gasoline these days it's soon going to be a choice between gasoline and supplements. I love my SUV but it's sure not the car to have right now. Of course resale/trade in values have gone down, too (not that I can afford to take on the debt of a new or even used vehicle). -=skydancer=- Don't worry about avoiding temptation--- as you grow older it starts avoiding you. www.skydancers.com http://www.skydor.com

Guest guest
Don't forget YMMV Helen. I tried the large dose of Biotin & found that it negated the bg lowering effect of the ALA/EPO. I finally went back to the lower dose & that is fine. Of course I had a singular response to the Chromium too--affected my digestion so badly that I had to stop taking it & it took almost a month to recover. Caused gastroparesis-like symptoms. Be cautious folks. cappie Greater Boston Area T-2 10/02 8/05 A1c: 5.1 = 96 mean glu. 50-100 carb diet, walking, Metformin ALA/EPO, ALC, Vit C, Calc/mag, low dose Biotin, full spectrum E, Policosanol, folic acid, B 12 fish oil cap, fresh flax seed, multi vitamin, Lovastatin 40 mg/coQ10 100mg, Enalapril 10 mg 8/05:138 lbs (highest weight 309) 5' tall /age 67, cappie@... It means they are able to tolerate the glucose load better with momordica, that their bg spikes were held down. Someone I know is very sensitive to momordica and found small doses really lowered bgs. It is part of a cocktail I have been giving my husband to keep diabetes at bay. When he became disabled and no longer was doing hard physical labor, his bgs went up and his A1c was 6.2. Tho he is still at home, his last A1c was 5.1 and he is no longer considered in danger from diabetes. However, my feeling is the supplements are working and should be continued. Guest guest
Hi all, I was looking for a liquid melatonin for my family as well and looked at Whole Foods and Nutrition Smart but was not happy as all of them had products that many of our kids might react to in order to sweeten them or increase compliance. Natrol claims to be free of the major allergens but then they add vanilla and caramel which in that form can be a source of excitotoxicity (kills brain cells as well as cancer causing--kind of not the result we are looking for) . Dr. Mercola at www.mercola.com has a melatonin nano spray sweetened with xylitol, which I have just ordered to try myself and test on my kids. If it works well, I will also sell it locally and on my website. You can order or read about it here: http://products.mercola.com/melatonin-sleep-spray/ Liquid supplements are so much more convenient, but most manufacturers throw sugar in there to make it taste better, and with all the yeast issues our kids have, that's the last thing they need is more sugar. That said, melatonin is an amazing supplement and is being touted throughout the medical and anti aging community for a variety of benefits: http://www.jabs.org.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3164 My two cents... Guest guest
We use melatonin from Source Naturals. Ingredients are: vitamin B-6, melatonin, purified water, vegetable glycerin, natural orange flavor, soy lecithin, lauric arginate and potassium benzoate. The label says it contains no yeast, dairy, egg, gluten, wheat, sugar, starch, salt or artificial color, flavor or fragrance. It is a sub-lingual spray that is easy to administer and we buy it at Whole Foods. Originally, our DAN doctor had recommended it.
