Guest guest
Jessie, What has your Dr said about you taking so many over the counter drugs? I have heard of drugs causing Kidney and stomach problems. I would talk with your Dr. about this. He should be able to give you some info on which drugs are safer and possibly prescribe something that would work better. Guest guest
Okay, I understand if you are on one pain med after awhile it loses it's effectiveness. So you need a stronger one. and so on and so on. I get it, however, what is the alternative???? /Mi
Guest guest
30% respond to a placebo so find one. pain meds Okay, I understand if you are on one pain med after awhile it loses it's effectiveness. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. 3. Also, it is not uncommon for more than one member to be feeling bad at the same time when it comes to flares and b/c of that potentially take something another member says the wrong way. And that includes the things that one member may find funny (even if it's laughing at fibro itself) even though we who deal with illness whether one such as fibro or multiple illnesses try to keep a sense of humor. 5. Guest guest
I am not sure. I do know that I am fighting tooth and nail not to ever ask for anything stronger than hydrocodone. (may have to someday). I do find it is not as effective after being on it for almost 2 years. BUT..... let me say, it still does help even though I don't realize it. I know because if I have gone over 12 hours without a dose, I hurt unbelievably. So it still works for me. Some days the pain just won't let up much no matter what I take. I tend to add some over the counter meds into the mix. A little naproxen or aspirin or ibuprofen. I am not sure it helps, but it is worth a try. I will add... IF I can lay down after taking the medication and not have to be running all over the place at work, it is much more effective. I have to question at times... is the fibro pain worse? Or is my body too use to the hydrocodone? Could be a little of both. But, if I am lucky enough to have this same doc, when the pain gets completely untolerable, I will ask for something stronger. I see no need in living in constant severe pain when there is medication that could help me. Just taking it a day at a time. hugs, Debra V. uniceander wrote: Okay, I understand if you are on one pain med after awhile it loses it's effectiveness.
