volunteers/ Donations needed for Fashion show for Disabilities

Looking for volunteers, fashion and accessory donations, and models with

disabilities for Fashion Show in October 2011,in Broward County.

I am in the process of forming committees and accepting nominees for the models.

The models we will be looking for will be all ages, male/female, and all

disabilities. They will be persons who have led exemplary lives and have shown

they can overcome the obstacles of a disability. The chosen nominees are those,

who can be a role model to others with disabilties and an inspiration to us all.

We will be choosing approximately twelve.

Nominees can be forward to me with a short bio or life story describing their

age, disability and how they are a role model and inspiration.

The fashions are hoped to be donated from major vendors/department stores, or

small local store. (Or a giftcard donated to purchase the outfits.) This of

course, will be our biggest challenge. We are also looking for jewelry makers to

loan the jewelry for the models to wear.

If you have any contacts in these areas, I would be enormously appreciative. The

fashion vendor and jewelry maker will receive recognition of their involvement ,

both verbally on the " runway " , and in print.

Student volunteers would include;

(6) Stage Hands ( " Best Buddy " ), - to assist Back Stage Managers (3)

(1) back stage floater,- to assist between the flow of back stage and front

(2 ) Raffle Sales persons- 50/50 drawing

Adult volunteers needed;

(3) Back Stage Managers,-one manager per 4 fashion models to oversee the models

fashions, hair appointments, and written bios for runway. This adult will be the

" Stage Mom/Dad " to oversee the models' readiness for the runway. The Stage

Managers will need to be dependable, reliable adults who will communicate in a

timely manner between the family of the models, and myself. (Family members of

models will not be accepted as Back Stage Managers. We want the family members

to sit and enjoy their Special loved ones in their moment of Glory)

(1) Beverage Server- soda/wine for donation $1-2/ per glass

Also needed:

Master of Ceremony,- to announce the models and read their inspiring stories.

Volunteers for; photographer, videographer, documentary person (video). College

students in the field would be great!

Students/adults with disabilities needed:

(4 ) Ushers - to help guests to seated area

(1) flower girl- to present corsages to family members sitting in VIP

These volunteer positions and their duties may change, based on need and

availability.
