Guest guest
Yes, I do believe it is hereditary. My 14 yr. old daughter was diagnosed when she was 10. If your son is worried, remind him it's much less common in men than women. If he already has symptoms, it could be worthwhile to get him diagnosed. We do not treat my Allie's diagnosis as a sentence for a miserable life. Instead, we look at it as forewarned is fore-armed. (That is the expression, isn't it?) She had some really rough years between 4th-7th grade. This year she is an 8th grader and she is doing great. No meds except for occasional pain. But if things get worse, we'll know what to do. Take care. Jeanne in WI >Hello, along with your analogy of will it kill us, one of my sons asked me the other day if this is hereditary? Anyone know about that, I haven't heard of it, and never thought to ask my Rheumatologist either. Just wondered... Thanks, Pam
Guest guest
This possibility is always tucked in the back of mind since the arrival of our daughter 3 yrs ago. I honestly don't know how I'd react if it turns out my daughter inherited FM from me since the " pass-ons " are beyond my control.
