To me that was a very disturbing video and the Mother and sisters are very naive. Teens are not well known for their goodness but are known for their cruel pranks as I'm sure thats what this is. I wonder what the prom Queen thinks about this? As we all know this is allways reserved for the schools biggest jock and head cheer leader. He obviously doesn't understand what is going on and that is very sad.

Wow why do you say that? I saw the video and I don't get that from the video. I think it would be good if they interviewed some of the kids from the class but if we don't have hope that there is goodness in some kids then where are we? My 11 year old son with autism is handsome and engaging and I don't see why he couldn't be prom king some day too. No offense but your comment really bums me out.

I agree...what a wonderful opportunity for this child and his family. As we have all seen - kids with autism have even been voted out of classrooms and here's this teen who received all these accolades! How fantastic is this. Truly a jump forward that neurotypical teenagers can see beyond the disability and honor the person. Such a display of hope and positivism!

I had a similar surprising and heartwarming experience. My son apparently,

somehow, became quite popular within the regular population at his high school.

Although he didn't get a regular diploma, he was allowed to participate in the

regular ceremony, and when he got his " diploma " there was a very audible wave of

cheering and clapping that came mostly from the other graduates. They were all

very kind and open to him.
