The "Tally Rally" began with hundreds of Advocates chanting "No More Cuts". Then hundreds of advocates went into the governor's office hoping speak with him. After nearly 2 hours, Jane and Ungru agreed to speak to only two people about provider rate cuts and the budget crisis. Luckily I ( Nangle) had my video camera, so you all get to see it. Ven Sequenzia from the Autism Society was the other person who got to speak .

As you watch the video you will wonder why Ungru - Deputy Chief of Staff to Gov. Rick said she has not received many calls from providers or Support Coordinators telling her that the cuts are hurting them. So I suggest that you ALL pick up the phone and call her. Let her know what you are thinking and how the cuts are affecting you and the people you help serve.

Rick : If lawmakers fill deficit, I'll tear up APD rate cuts

Gov. Rick said he'll cancel his emergency order deeply cutting rates at the Agency for Persons with Disabilities if the Legislature comes up with the cash to fill a projected $174 million deficit. 's office points out that state law prohibits agencies from running deficits so he had little choice but to cut rates. Had done nothing, APD was scheduled to go broke in mid-May. Now, that target is pushed farther out. The House proposed budget for fiscal year 12 has offered to plug the deficit in the current year. The Senate didn't. But Senate President Mike Haridopolos suggested last week that he'd pick up the House language.
