Back in 1989 when I joined up with a diet program that was a nation wide

program at that time, well I paid a lot of money, but lost around 85 pounds. I

did have some site left back then, but still wasn't able to look in a mirror and

see how thinner I was getting. I knew as a blind man it is so very important to

be able to touch and hear when the eyes will let you down. so every time I lost

weight I found things that weighed the same amount as I lost and I found the

total amount of pounds I had lost all together. I've always had a wood shop in

my life, so taping boards up together to equal the weight I had lost wasn't a

big deal. for the rest of you I say find things around your house and weigh

them. write down what they weighed and keep this in a note book or where ever it

is you can get to it when needed. if you can sit it on your scales and not have

to hold it there, then weigh it and write it down because as you lose weight you

will need to go find that item and hold it in your hands. pick it up and just

think? that is how much weight you just lost and you don't have to carry it

around all day no more. feel how heavy it is and think of having it on your back

all day no matter where you go. this method I promise you will blow your mind! I

got weights around that I lift and if you have some or no of some one who does,

then ask them to show you how much one weighs that equals what you have lost.

pick it up and hold it a while, as long as you can. sit down with it in your lap

or hand, now get up to a standing position. just think that this is the weight

you use to have around your body that you took with you every where you went

every day and night. now some folks may tell you that losing one or two pounds a

week would just make them mad and they would give up. well don't be like them!

have a better attitude and do what they think they can't do. each pound you lose

will add up and be more pounds as time rows on. I weigh again to morrow morning

for my 2 week weigh in. so far I'm sitting here with 15 pounds less of me no

longer hanging on to me and to morrow's weight lost will bring that total up

higher. I got a 15 pound weight right here by my desk and I like to lift it up

and think on how damn good it feels to know this is how much fat I have took off

so far and how grate it feels to know I don't have to carry it around any more.

I can't hardly wait until I can lift the bar bells that weigh 135 pounds that I

lost through hard work and the right attitude. it will be hard to lift, but I

can't wait until I have the chance to lift it and think back on how all that

weight use to be mine to bare all day long! this way helped me many years ago in

89 and it is once again helping me now, as I know it can help you who can't see

your self looking back in the mirror. this way you can feel it and hold it and

it will get your attention for a fact! go on and give it a try. now the down

side of this touch and feel method is if you gain the extra weight and not lose

it. the other side of the coin is what you then must reflect on. this weight

that you are now holding is how much more weight you now must carry around with

you every day no matter where you go or what you do. never for get there is

always a flip side to everything in life. the positive side? or the negative

side? only your attitude will be what will make the choice. to morrow morning I

get to add more pounds to my weight that I will lift, how about you???
