Guest guest
We have recently got a direct input lead for to use with his DVD player (life-saver on the many long plane flights we take to the US from the UK). You plug it into the boots on the bottom of each hearing aid (i.e. the place where the FM receiver usually plugs in). He absolutely loves it, and I can hear that the signal is really clear. Before that we used to plug the FM transmitter into the DVD and he would use the wireless system (i.e. FM receivers plugged into the boots). The sound quality was nowhere near as clear. The only down side is that he has to be plugged in (like using headphones) rather than wireless, so he has to be close to the DVD/stereo, so we wouldn't use it for a TV as we wouldn't want him to sit that close to the set! When I met up with Trish I gave her one for Bobby too. I don't know if he has used it, or what his experiences are with the sound, but certainly likes the direct input best. Guest guest
Felicity, what is this cord called and where can I find one??? We have a portable DVD player that Maggie uses in the car but she has to use an inline amplifier and headphones. This sounds so much better! >We have recently got a direct input lead for to use with his DVD player (life-saver on the many long plane flights we >take to the US from the UK). Guest guest
Felicity, We didn't use it with Bobby yet but only because he doesn't listen to any players here nor do we have TV on ever..well, hardly ever. I want to give it to the computer people at school (well, let them see it and they can buy their own for Bobby's school use) so that he can hear the computers. Last year they never even thought of that, and he's be using a program where he'd touch a letter and the computer would " say " the letter and talk to Bobby. It was so noisy in the room that he (nor I) could hear anything. So being directly plugged into the speaker for the computer is a must. I am letting the dust settle the first few days of school and then I wil bombard them with all this hearing aid technology! But we're excited about using it, we just haven't had the need yet. Could have used it on the way home from VT, though, if only I had the boots with me then...)
