Dear List mates,

Please share your recommendations & suggestions for what is most

tolerated, accepted and effective in terms of fish oil & omega 3 with

your young children, as well as what hasn't worked. My 4 yo grandson is

having issues with distractibility, trouble focusing, food allergies,

eczema, etc. We're urging my daughter to give him fish oil.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Fish oil is okay (Krill Oil has everything) and helpful, but what he really needs is to get his yeast levels down. That would not only require a dietary intervention as well as a probiotic for the GI tract. He needs sulphur which he can't absorb because of the yeast overgrowth in the GI tract, but epsom salt baths would work and really help. Donna Gates' coconut keiffer is amazing for yeast overgrowth in the GI tract and improves focus and concentration, skin issues etc. You can check her website for more info and success stories from families with autism. www.bodyecologydiet.com . Vit. D3 and zinc are especially important for skin issues, immune, allergies... It would also be good to see if he has high ammonia in the ureas which can cause focus and concentration issues and keep the GI tract fermented so it's difficult to keep that yeast overgrowth down. OR there might also be a low serotonin issue as well.

This testing would look at all these issues www.pHtestlab.com Badillo9@... for further info.

I started giving my son Nordic Naturals cod liver oil when he was 3 years old. I initially gave it to him for vision because at some point he started looking at everything sideways and would sit very close to the TV and stared at credits and ceiling fans and any other visual stimuli. Within a month, of 2 teaspoons daily, all of that went away and we've never had a vision issue since. We still give it to him because I've learned it's good for anxiety and many other issues. Hope this helps!Sent from my iPhone

I use Barlenes lemon swirl...I have to keep it on the top shelf in the refridgerator or he would drink it all if he could. I do feel that it helped him to focus in this school work and I also believe that he gets ill less often than prior to taking it.

They also have it in Strawberry I think

Nordic Naturals are very good. The Ultimate Jr. or 3-6-9 Junior are both very

good. My son who is now in his late twenties still takes Nordic Naturals. He

takes the Pro-Omega.

Try the liquid form in different dosage to see how well it is tolerated. Also try different forms of it to see which is best tolerated. It is the only known supplement shown to be effective for improving brain function. NinoSubject: Fish Oil & omega 3's for a 4 yoTo: "'s List" <sList >Date: Friday, April 29, 2011, 7:08 AM
