Guest guest
You know the truth is when I was only riding my no where bike for 30 minutes twice a day, I knew sooner or later I had to increase the time rode. either 3 times a day at 30 each or 2 times at 45 each. the total of 90 either way of bike riding and of course up the tension on the peddles as well. Just like Harry Bates told me many times since I have been on this list. when you really get down with exercise and got it going, after maybe the first ten or 15 minutes you can really feel it getting easier to continue doing it. I thought 45 would be much harder to do each day and hold that time with more tension on my peddles, but it isn't harder like I thought. I have learned through the many years of starting and stopping with exercise of any kind, that once you get in the habit of skipping days it will continue right in to not exercising like you should. I tried the 3 days a week and it really wasn't keeping me focused, so I went to 5 days a week and took the weekends off. then even at that it was harder and harder to get motivated on Monday to get going again. So now I don't miss a day. I go seven days a week every week and I don't have a problem now with not being motivated. I don't go as hard some days if I simply don't feel well, but I still go for the time I have set to go and it is working out better then it ever has in my life. I'm here to tell you not many have jumped in and out of exercise as much as this fat pig has done over the many years of trying. I now know you got to do your exercise each day just like eating right and making smart decisions when you eat. even if you are going out of town, you have got to plan for exercise just like eating. do it earlier before you leave and later when you return or go longer one time. you can as well do some kind of walking when you are where ever it is you are. some one there most of the time will go walking with you if you are blind. run in place if you have to, but don't ever skip that very important exercise each day. I haven't missed not one day since I started riding my no where bike on March fifth. this is around sixty days straight and it will continue even if the hospital calls my name. I use to walk up and down the halls in the hospital every day pulling my IV poll right behind me and some other things as well. I know for a fact that eating smart and exercise must be coupled up together as a team if you wish to lose pounds. I don't think either will work long with out the help of the other one. most of the time when I get to 30 minutes on my no where bike, I know I only got 15 left to ride, but I feel like I could go 30 more. I don't do this because I do notice when riding at different times my sugar is dropping to low. this is why I always test before I ride and eat a bit of something if it is around the 90's. so far I can feel my sugar dropping because of the shakes I get before the ride is done. this is why I never guess and I always test. this group of folks on the list have drilled that fact in my fat head over the years. even as a type 2 I check my sugar at least 5 to 8 times a day. my doc is ok with me checking this much and will write the scrip for this many so I can. the finger stick don't hurt that bad and knowing with out guessing makes it worth the bit of pane. I know some of you on the list do have a hard time of getting started with some kind of exercise and doing it every day. I can relate to this because I've been there way to many times. but once you get going and really stick it out, like get through the first 2 weeks of every day exercising, then you will be home free in my opinion if you never miss a day after that. I don't have to remind my self to ride my no where bike these day's. I know it is the thing that has to be done and I simply go take care of it. it also makes me feel better because I do ride my no where bike each day. now I've been through the muscle burn when I first got started with exercise in the past and there is no getting around this most of the time in most folks. the saying you have always heard growing up, that no pane, no gain is very true. your muscles haven't had to move that much and they don't desire to break the bad habit you have put them in. of course they will complain at first and your body will try really hard to talk you out of sticking to exercising. you have to fight your way through this or you will never get to where I am to day and so many more who do it daily are. I think we all got to go through that first 2 or 3 weeks of a struggle with daily exercise. then I don't think it is any different though to get use to exercise then it is to eating right. your body can and will get use to eating better and expecting exercise daily to feel good. I've always heard it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. well I think it depends on the person and how motivated they can get. we are all different, but we all can get to the point of better health by having the right attitude. I heard a minister say once that first you get a passion for your vision for your life. then the vision will fuel the attitude that keeps the focused. this is so true. nothing wrong with having a vision and dreaming. God says in the good book that old men will dream and have visions. we never get to old to stop dreaming. I have a vision of seeing me thinner and in much better health do to exercise and eating smarter then I ever have in my past. I also got a passion for my vision and my attitude is right where it should be to maintain the dream. we who are totally blind don't have to see our self in a mirror to see our self thinner or just looking better all the way around. picture your self doing some kind of exercise each day and then just do it. make the vision happen and don't ever stop dreaming of the day when the vision for your life will be come a reality. Ask God to show you the vision for your life if you all ready don't have one. If you truly wish to see it, then God will show it to you. my dream was for many years to eat everything I could get my hands on. I dreamed of eating and parties all the time. I simply lived to eat and I dreamed of eating. I never had a dream of exercising or being thin. I didn't have a vision of being in good health simply because I never had a passion to do better for my life. well I found my passion the end of this last February when I all most checked out of this body. that passion fueled my vision and that vision fueled my attitude and my attitude is why I'm focused now and it is just easy to be honest with you all! so why sit by and watch me achieve all the victory's? why not join me and let's do it as a team and go on the same journey. remember a very important saying that I wish to tell each of you. it really isn't important where you have been or what you done. what is important is where you are going and what you will do. yesterday is history and can't be gotten back, so lets do the right living to day and make our to morrows a success!
