Guest guest
Hi, Yesterday there was a blurb on national news about a young girl who went through the body scanning machine at an airport and it disabled and ruined her insulin pump. Anyone have any knowledge about this sort of thing? Cy
Guest guest
I have been through a number of airports and their scanning systems and have never had any problem with either of my pumps. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Cy Selfridge Sent: Tuesday, May 08, 2012 6:51 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: the pump and airport security Hi, Yesterday there was a blurb on national news about a young girl who went through the body scanning machine at an airport and it disabled and ruined her insulin pump. Guest guest
Wow! I hope she isn't damaged in any way. It is hard enough without things like that going wrong. I sure hope they get her a new pump. Guest guest
Hi , Yes, someone did replace her pump. The reason I posted this was to find out if such a thing could actually be true. Ye Gads, it is fast becoming way too much hassle to fly these days. Gone are the days when flying was genuinely a pleasure. Good food, comfortable seating and courteous help. With some of the regional planes you had blamed well better be really good friends with the person sitting next (really next) to you. Guest guest
Hi Pat, I suspect that this was one of the newer body scanners as she did not want a pat down. The story was a bit brief and I have not seen anything more on it. Makes me sorta thing they might just want to hush the story? Oh surely not!
