Guest guest
you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted. I like a spoon of jelly mixed up with my eggs if I don't put it on toast. however, to night I didn't add jelly or did I eat toast, but I did add a spoon of pinto beans to my scrambled eggs with grilled onions. man was it finger licking good! once at a restaurant after I had finished my meal, the lady was going to remove my plate, but I grabbed it and said no! I haven't licked it yet! she ask me if I was joking or was I for real? I told her all fat guys like me who are blind always lick there plate after eating, especially if it had a slice of pie or cake on it. I was fixen to actually bring the plate to my mouth so I could look like I truly would lick the plate, but my wife wasn't sure if I really wasn't going to lick it, so she took the plate out of my hand. the waitress I think was concerned for a moment thinking this blind man was really going to lick his plate. I told her it was what I was taught in school after eating. this way when you couldn't see that your plate was empty, you would pick up what ever you left behind with your tongue. I still pull this trick from time to time just to keep the ladies on there toes. I've never done it to a man waiter. Just haven't found one yet that I thought would appreciate my idea or he would simply step back and tell me to have at it!

Guest guest
If you believe what they say about eggs, then you won't ever enjoy the beautiful eatable egg and all it's wonders. I eat lots of eggs and it isn't the egg that causes cholesterol to go up. it is calories that makes high cholesterol. I think the egg simply gets the blame for anything they can't figure out. some times I will eat a boiled egg before I ride my no where bike if my sugar is in the 90's when I start. to many times I ignore it being there and have had the shakes before the 45 minutes was over. check the sugar after and it be in the 70's. don't do that no more. so I plan to continue to eat eggs in my life and poop on what the so called know it alls think! ever had breakfast for dinner? you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted. Guest guest
I'm not overly concerned, because as you say, eggs are actually loaded with " good " cholesterol. The egg yoke helps raise the hdl, which is the number you want high, and which is often low in diabetics. Guest guest
Hi, Mark, Thanks for the suggestion about the eggs before exercising. I do classical singing--I mean opera and such. I have to make sure my blood sugar is about a hundred before I begin an hour's practice with the pianist or I run into trouble with blood sugar in the low seventies just as you do. I'll try those eggs. My issue is that the doctors can't believe any singing could really do this. I try to explain that classical singing is aerobic exercise, but they don't get it. On another subject, I'm thinking of buying one of those nowhere bikes. Can you describe yours? What should I look for in a nowhere bike? Guest guest
now asparagus and mushrooms are very good on the grill. I take a large sheet of tinfoil and take asparagus, mushrooms and onions, with garlic and other spices that have been in the ice box for a few hours and roll it up in the foil and punch small holes with a fork in only the bottom side so the smoke will get in. I lay it on the grill for about 20 minutes. now this here is about as good as it gets! some times will grill those huge mushrooms that are the size of a coffee place and add a bit of olive oil or butter with spices to both sides before I grill them. then use the asparagus and the other veggies as the filler between the large mushrooms and have a sandwich. yellow squash is also grate grilled. slice it a bit thicker then you do when you bake or boil it and spice it up good on both sides. always let veggies set in the fridge for 3 or 4 hours if you can, if not, then 2 hours will work. olive oil or butter will help the spices to hang on. grill you a small steak and then after you let it sit for at least 15 minutes after it is done, then cut it up in small bites and mix with all your veggies. kind of like a stir fry, but all grilled. long time ago when I didn't no better and was a new cook in the kitchen or out doors, I would eat a steak right off the grill and wonder why it wasn't as juicy or some times why it wasn't as tender as I thought it should be. then I seen on a cooking show that meat has to rest after you remove it from the fire so the juices will spread back out and the meat can relax. of course I thought this information was about as silly as it could get, but I tried it never the less. seems there really was folks in the world that knew some things about cooking that I didn't know. allowing the meat to rest and relax did make a huge difference in how juicy it was and tender to boot. from that day on I paid closer attention to cooking tips where ever I heard them. we who dig eating can still grill and cook as we always have. the difference is now we don't eat it all at once and we use different veggies and fruits and more romaine and leaf letis for a wrap. ever had fruit on the grill or in a omelet? ever had breakfast for dinner? you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted. Guest guest
I buy the fresh garlic that is all ready chopped up in maybe a quart size container at Sam's. I put onions and garlic in just about everything I cook. love garlic. I know of some folks who pill a fresh piece of garlic and take it like a pill with there meds each day. they say it is good for you in lots of ways. will I don't do this, but I eat enough garlic during a day that the same good should be happening to me as well. some times for dinner with a salad, try toasting a piece of whole grain bread and spread a bit of butter or olive oil on it, then sprinkle some chopped up fresh garlic on that. of course real butter is next to impossible to spread unless you melt it first. my wife likes me to melt the butter and pour it in a flat bowl that will allow the toast to lay down and this will butter the toast very well. I never measure the butter, but I know it isn't more then one table spoon for 2 slices of toast. I never have yet tried garlic on ice cream, but who know's? it might be grate! ever had breakfast for dinner? you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted. Guest guest
now this is a statement I have heard many times! I do eat some funny strange things, but then again, we who are diabetic and over weight must come up with some strange combinations if we plan to stay below what use to be normal for us. lots of different things do go well together, but then this also depends on each different set of taste buds. some folks can't get pass what is thought of as normal eating at a meal. like eggs and bacon is only for breakfast and onions never should be in eggs. I've been cooking since I was a teenager. I made up my mind long ago I would learn to cook and not depend on sandwiches and TV dinners all my life. so I took that cooking class in school that was mostly girls and us guys got made fun of by the other guys. well I say you will never know what you like with what until you give it a try and see for your self. not long ago my sister gave me a white chocolate covered potatoes chip to try. now my first thought was that is to nasty to even think of trying! A guy behind me said that sounded as bad as chocolate bacon that the Texas state fair had, but I always try a different food just to say I did and to see if the combination is good together. well that white chocolate covered potatoes chip was dain good and I could have ate the whole can, but of course I did not. love white chocolate though. makes me now wonder about a chocolate dipped cheese stick or chee toes? maybe even a chocolate covered free toe? maybe even a onion ring dipped in chocolate? what about a chocolate prestos? chocolate bacon though? don't know about this! I do think right's brand thick slice bacon is the very best, but dipped in chocolate? ever had breakfast for dinner? you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted. Guest guest
yes I do both. covering it up with tinfoil will also keep it nice and warm while you go take your shot and have to wait 15 minutes before you can eat that baby! ever had breakfast for dinner? you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted. Guest guest
Wish I had your hdl number! My doc says my low hdl is mostly genetic. But I take niacin and omega 3 (mostly through tons of walnuts) to try to help raise it. I usually am around 25, and it should be around 40 for a male. Guest guest
I have read that a T one can't hardly get there HDL to ever reach much over 45. they say it is much easier for a T 2 like I am to get it up over 45. of course you know as I know that you can find just as much bad or good advice on either side of an issue if you look hard enough. they say exercise will raise the HDL and lower the LDL and triglycerides. well we will soon see if this is right. ever had breakfast for dinner? you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted. Guest guest
Markie, Another way to get garlic from Sams is the whole garlic cloves peeled but not chopped. They come in a large jar which can be frozen. This way the garlic will never go bad. Just take out what you want, chop or slice it and you are in business. I do like the flavor of the whole garlic much better than the already chopped stuff.
