Guest guest
My last HDL was 67 and LDL 72 _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Mark Ruth Sent: Thursday, May 10, 2012 8:00 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: ever had breakfast for dinner? I have read that a T one can't hardly get there HDL to ever reach much over 45. they say it is much easier for a T 2 like I am to get it up over 45. of course you know as I know that you can find just as much bad or good advice on either side of an issue if you look hard enough. they say exercise will raise the HDL and lower the LDL and triglycerides. well we will soon see if this is right. ever had breakfast for dinner? you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted. I like a spoon of jelly mixed up with my eggs if I don't put it on toast. however, to night I didn't add jelly or did I eat toast, but I did add a spoon of pinto beans to my scrambled eggs with grilled onions. man was it finger licking good! once at a restaurant after I had finished my meal, the lady was going to remove my plate, but I grabbed it and said no! I haven't licked it yet! she ask me if I was joking or was I for real? I told her all fat guys like me who are blind always lick there plate after eating, especially if it had a slice of pie or cake on it. I was fixen to actually bring the plate to my mouth so I could look like I truly would lick the plate, but my wife wasn't sure if I really wasn't going to lick it, so she took the plate out of my hand. the waitress I think was concerned for a moment thinking this blind man was really going to lick his plate. I told her it was what I was taught in school after eating. this way when you couldn't see that your plate was empty, you would pick up what ever you left behind with your tongue. I still pull this trick from time to time just to keep the ladies on there toes. I've never done it to a man waiter. Guest guest
saving money is always a grate plan. How many people would go buy a exercise bike if the dealer said they would give you back $5 for every pound you lost on there bike? so when you lost all the weight you needed to, then the buy would cost you nothing, because you would get all your money back! kind of funny how folks will do about anything for the all mighty dollar, but hardly none will do the same for there health. in the end, what is piles of money if your health is bad and will cause your early death? ever had breakfast for dinner? you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted. Guest guest
well that ldl blew me out of the water in a huge way. don't know when my pig butt will come back to earth. with out looking, I believe my ldl was over 200 2 months ago. the HDL was around 65 and the total cholesterol was over 450. then my triglycerides was only 1400 with my A1C coming in at 13. No wonder my heart acted up and the A fib got way kinds of upset! however, been 2 straight months of grate control all the way around. will find out around the eighth of June how well the A1C has come down. the other number will be the next week more then likely. losing weight has to help the heart you would think? plus all the numbers that go with it should as well come down. I use to listen to Dr. Mirkin all the time and he says if you will eat a sald for lunch and another one for dinner, your numbers will be exactly where your doc wishes them to be. Mirkin said it will only take ten days to no more then 2 weeks to achieve all the lower numbers no matter how high your ldl or total cholesterol goes. he has always said that to many calories is the thing that raises your cholesterol and of course triglycerides too. ever had breakfast for dinner? you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted. Guest guest
Those so called sugar free are often made with sorbitol or mannitol. Both of these alcohol sweeteners give gastric distress if you eat to many of them. Guest guest
not having enough money is a problem of most folks. A minister said not to long ago on a Christian talk radio station I listen to, that God isn't going to give us any more then we got right now, if we don't show him we are content with it. I use to think lots of money made you happy. now I know knowing Jesus makes you happier then money or anything else this world has to offer. so the key is if we know Jesus, then we can be very happy and content with very little. as far as time goes? I also use to think as a kid that 50 was very old! now that I'm pass this at the double nickel I realize that 50 isn't very old at all. some people wonder is it more important to live for many years like maybe 100 or pass early in age? well I think your quality of life no matter how many years you live in the body you have is most important. I would hate to think that I would still be around at the age of 90 if my health and quality of life was poor. putting all this aside though, I know my God has a plan for my life and if that plan means for me to suffer with bad health issues, then I'm not going to argue or get mad at God. I suppose maybe the only way you and I could have lots of time and more money is be nasty rich! no one in my family is any where close to rich in money. rich in blessing lots of us are, but not piles of cash just laying around. I know some folks who are in a situation as you are taking care of a sick loved one. it does take up most of your time and energy as well. When my Momma was in the beginning of Alzheimer's it was close then to being a 24 seven, but then I had my heart attack and my sister took over taking care of Momma. she actually put her life on hold for the next 2 years while she cared for our Momma. it was for sure a 24 7 type of job. I've heard from the nurses while my Momma was in a nursing home for half of the 2 years, that they had folks there that the kids only came and seen the parent maybe twice a year and the kids lived with in 25 miles. how sad it this? your parent can't take care of them selves no more and must be in a nursing home kind of place and you as the child can't find the time to see them more then twice a month, when you live with in a 45 minute drive at the most? it really is a very selfish world we live in and people now have that entitlement attitude. we Christians have to live in the world, but not of the world. you are doing exactly what you should do if you believe the good book. God tells us to take care of the older folks in our life and be there for them during the last day's. in your case you can only do the best you can and let God handle the rest. eat right and do try to exercise when you do find a bit of extra time. I know the exercise will make you feel better about everything and help you with the stress as well. I know just from my own personal over eating life, that now making smarter choices and exercising every day I do feel much better then I did. I know I will still have problems with the health and the such, but this is just how life is. we each go through our own trials and tribulations so we can learn and grow. We got to learn about sadness, joy, sickness, depression and all the rest in order to prepare us for then end of life on this earth. I know I wouldn't appreciate the thought of heaven one day and no more bad anything, if I had it all peaches and cream here in this life. I hated seeing my Momma suffer through that mind eating disease of Alzheimer's for 2 years as she did, but I know it could have been much longer. I'm thankful and feel blessed that it only lasted 2 years. my daddy just killed over of a big heart attack at the age of 67. was he the lucky one? I look at it as his job God had for him to do was finished and he went home. I believe that God allows or causes everything in this world that goes on. now some folks don't feel this same way and they are entitled to that opinion. we will agree to disagree and move on. we each work with what we got and we do the best we can with what we have. I guess this is being content with where we are right now. the flesh is weak and wants to complain and think of others who have it better. the Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak and this is true even in very Godly folks. your husband is very blessed to have a wife who is sticking be side him and taking care of him with love. I've seen to much in my short life those who turn there back on loved one's who needed them. I never really spent a lot of time in a nursing home until my Momma was in one for a year. I'm here to tell you they are under staffed and it is so very sad to watch and listen to what is happening there. I realize that some adults with families who got parents in a nursing home simply can't keep them at home and I understand this, but they can go spend time with there loved one even in a place like a nursing home. My Momma didn't know me or my sister when that Alzheimer's took hold good, but we knew her and even though she just rambled on about nothing, we both looked forward to being with her because she was our Momma. when I couldn't be there and my sister could, she would call me on the phone and put me on the speaker. this way I could still be there with my Momma and at least tell her I loved her and was still here thinking of her. I have no clue if she knew or not, but I still knew her and my God knew I was there as well. the thing that is really sad is some kids can't find the time to go see the parent in a nursing home, but they certainly could find the time to go see a lawyer to collect some money left for them by the parent who was in the nursing home. those places to me made me so sad to think of those folks who were now old and breaking down. they wasn't able to care for there own needs any more, so the kids or who ever placed them there so they could run out what time they had left out of there way. one day some of us here on the diabetic list may also be in a nursing home kind of place. do you think your kids will be there to see you as much as they can? I don't have any kids and neither does my wife. I guess I better make lots of friends while I'm still in my right mind and pay them to come sit with me if and when I have to go to a place like a nursing home. I know my wife will as well do for me as you are doing for your honey. I too will take as good of care for my honey if I need to and can, but if it has to be a nursing home, then I will as well be there as much as I can because of love. How many Momma's do you think are in a nursing home right now, that no one will go be with them on Mother's day this coming Sunday? It makes you cry just to know there will be some all across this nation and daddy's as well on Father's day in June. ever had breakfast for dinner? you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted. Just haven't found one yet that I thought would appreciate my idea or he would simply step back and tell me to have at it!
Guest guest
yes that is very high and lots of bad health issues will come from it if left that high for very long. remember that stress can make us over eat. some times we think we are hungry, but it is out of habit we wish to eat. just like those who like to drink and smoke. we wish to do what we have always done and we believe it is making us feel better. also remember, your honey won't have you to be his nurse if you break down health wise too. some one then will need to take care of you both. his care may really go down hill fast if it wasn't you taking care of him. it isn't easy to break old bad habits, but we got to find a way and you will find the answer you are looking for through Prayer. his strength! not your's, will get you through it all. ever had breakfast for dinner? you really should try it if you never. nothing is as good as grilled onions with scrambled eggs and then you add some red pepper to kick it up a notch. also you could add a slice of toast lightly buttered if you would wish or for get the bread and have eight ounces of milk. could skip the milk and have cottage cheese with your eggs. now I'm a pig and we all know pig's are a bit twisted.
