Dear Friends,

Joe received the results of his liver biopsy today. He has cholangiocarcinoma. His gastro in Austin wanted to refer him to San , but Joe wants to go to Houston. Joe's previous gastroenterologist in Houston, Dr. Ian Sachs, from 1999, when Joe had his J-pouch surgery, is where Joe has started for referral. Joe would like to know if there are any prominent names for gastroenterology, oncology and hepatology in Houston that you all could share with us?

Thanks,

mother of Joe (32), UC 1987, J-pouch 1999, PSC, acute pancreatitis 03/06, chronic pancreatitis 12/06, cholangiocarcinoma 12/06

Firstly, I am so sorry. I am sure you

will get many great ideas here. The only place I can think of off the top of

my head is Mayo in Rochester as I believe they do the

most with CC.

All my best,

-Hi

Sorry to hear the news of Joe's biopsy. I hope that you get some

responses from other members familiar with Houston so that you all can

make a good decision on whwere to go. Although it is not the news one

wants, tell him to keep his spirits up and we'll all pray and hope

that he gets a solution.

Dear

I'm so sorry to hear about Joe's results. My prayers and thoughts are with your family. Joe is lucky to have your help in making these important decisions right now. I'm sure that other PSCers will write in soon. I know that other PSCers with the CC diagnosis have done very well with Dr. Gores at Mayo in Minnesota. Thinking of you!
